One Youtube Performance to turn people on to the Hip - Roy-at-tth - 12-19-2007

Hey Folks,

I've been cruising Youtube trying to figure out one performance I can show a bunch of friends to turn them on to the hip. It's a hard deal, because they haven't heard the hip (at least not extensively) before, and attention span, like any good 20something, is short.

Anyhow, I thought I'd come to you friends as a sounding board for what you think would be some of the best performances to lure in new fans. I'm open to just about anything, although I do caution that our ears are trained to find the hidden melody's in the muffled audio of live recordings, and I think a more crisp audio is a pre-req.

I have found ICBNEN to be a good start for friends. It's modern and catchy with an opening lyric that grabs peoples attention. The video is a cool introduction to the band and the Bathouse.

For a live vid I use Kids at the Moore. From the white spot light on Paul to the beat up theater, this video captures the essence of the Hip.
