Kingston Predictions - nhaste - 12-14-2007
So... just wondering what everyones thoughts are for this show. Do you think they'll do anything special? ie. Dan Aykroyd performing with them. Do you think the "Evening With" means it will be 2 sets a la the 2000 tour? Will they use the same video screens etc. that they used on the previous arena shows earlier this year?
The 2004 Kingston show was pretty standard for the shows they were playing at the time... the only real surprise was Locked with Dan Aykroyd.

Escape was a bit of a surprise to me............
Not sure what it will be, but I'm not going to get my hopes up that it will be "an evening with" ala 2000 tour. Rumors still seem to be afloat about an opening act.
As for what they will play, probably a pretty straight forward set, but as long as they throw in a couple gems I will be happy.
Plus, I am taking my two daughters to their very first Hip show, if they play Luv (Sic) my one daughter will be very ecstatic...........Grace Too will make the other happy......LOL

If they're selling seats behind the band, then I doubt they'd have the same screens as the World Container tour.

(Disclaimer: as a former Kingstonian, I'm bitter that I won't be able to see this show. Unless, of course, someone wants to provide me with an inexpensive/free return flight from Calgary to Kingston; in which case, count me in!)
I think we'll get a more-or-less standard show, a la AtC in 2004. IIRC, expectations were *huge* for that, yet apart from "Escape" and "Locked" it was your typical IVL setlist. What with this being the opening of a new arena in the band's hometown, I'm assuming it'll be much the same sort of deal--a couple curveballs to satiate the diehards, but nothing that'll cause those of us who can't make it to look at the setlist and immediately drown our sorrows.
Selfishly, that's what I'm hoping for anyway.
(And unselfishly...I mean, it wouldn't kill them to break out "Get Back Again" at some point, would it?)

i wouldn't be overly surprised to hear something from the EP. I mean, Small Town bringdown just sounds like Kingston... (my high school is in the music video for a second too)
