I'm working on a new site for sharing live Hip, a web-based archive site, but need some help with it - php and MySQL are not my specialty. The usual bunch of contributors have helped out when/where they can but I'm hoping that there are some other fans who can pitch in.

Things that need to be complete:
Search engine
Commenting
Rating system
MP3 Samples

I've got the basic interface and the ability to download complete. Let me know if you can help out.

I love to help in any way possible. I'm curious as to what you mean by "mp3 samples" though. I'm not that technologically savvy, but if you just need somebody to post 30 second song samples from each show, and you want somebody to front that, I will gladly do so for all the shows I can.

Unless thats not what you meant. Regardless, I'd love to help.

For now that's what I mean - but I'd really like to have the server create the samples from the files as I post them. Additionally I need a means to have the sample be accessible for users without having to download the show... ie streaming from the server. I have the means to do Quicktime streaming, just need to sort out the implementation.

In spite of the severe lack of support from other fans to my initial request - Sean was the only person who responded - the site is ready for the first round of testing.

If you are interested please respond to this thread. All I need is for a few users to visit the site, download some files, and report back how it worked, speeds they achieved, when they connected, what browser they used, etc.

I'll send you a PM with a username/password.

The idea of the site is that once a show is sufficiently well distributed via Bit Torrent I will post the show to the archive where it will remain. Hopefully we will be able to build a complete online archive of all the live Hip recordings out there. I am adding shows daily to the archive - but at this pace it will be a couple of months before I am finished.

There are multiple google ads on each page as I am anticipating that the bandwidth usage for this site will be through the roof - and rather than make it members-only, a regular clicky by visitors on the ads should cover our costs.

OK folks... thanks for the offers to help. This round of testing is complete.

I'm somewhat surprised that we don't have any php or MySQL wizards in the mix that could help out... but that won't stop this project.
