Would it not be great if the Hip played a full set acoustically? I know they've done short radio sets and stuff, but a full show would be nice. They have plenty of songs they could do. Plus several songs that they could re-work acoustic. Lets make this happen!

That would be interesting ... Matthew Good just came of one helluva an acoustic tour .

I've always enjoyed the idea of acoustic tours in general. It puts another aspect into music...brings it more down to earth, and allows the singing to take over more. I like the idea, and I think the boys would do a hell of a job

Why not an acoustic album, and an acoustic tour t'follow? It's obvious the band is feeling their age, what with the shorter sets and all. Gord wouldn't have t'scream the lyrics...He might actually find his voice again...
They could play those gorgeous rooms they always seem t'get excited about playing...The band seems t'get a kick out of re-inventing themselves...I think it'd go over incredibly well...

I couldnt agree more. I think this would be a terrific way to go for the next cd. The Hip could certainly be just as powerful acoustically.

I'm not a fan of entirely acoustic concerts. I go to concerts to rock out. I like hearing some acoustic guitar and slower stuff as part of the general set, but I wouldn't enjoy an entire set of acoustic stuff.

Wholeheartedly agree on this idea. I love when the boys go unplugged on radio shows. Always wished they'd do that at their shows midway through like a few other groups do...(the only one I can really think of right now -that i've seen- is the Tea Party).
A show a la Iron and Wine or Great Lake Swimmers...

This really captures my attention.. however.. it would have to be done in the 'right venue'.. a venue where 'we' could really enjoy the music.. I really don't like Hip Concerts.. I can't really name one I can say I really enjoyed
They are the only band I would ever say this about.. It kind of has me *p*ssed* at The Hip :twisted:
