Well I just heard on the Kingston radio station early this morning..............

February 23rd is the proposed date for The Hip at the new arena in Kingston. The Headstones are the rumoured opener.

Coincidence, I really think so... but on the webcam page of the city of Kingston's site for the arena, there's a banner on a rendering of the new arena, that states "the hip are live tonight".

Hey guys, just wanted to pop in and say hi. As for the rumours, they are just that, still rumours. Beleive it or not, even the Hip opening is still a rumour. Nothing has been said officially. But it only would make sence that they open the arena that they were a big part in getting built. Here are the officail words so far.

The LVEC Rumour Mill
When: February 23, 2008
Where: LVEC
According to an article in The Heritage, Managers of the LVEC have all but confirmed that the Tragically Hip will play the first concert in the new venue when it opens mid-February. Rumour has it that the band is expected to headline the gala show on Saturday February the 23rd, while unidentified artists are being slated for opening performances.

Oh I should say that i work for the City of Kingston and I also work for KROCK 1057 as their photographer.

Well, I was suppose to get married on this date. And I'm no longer getting married. In my day planner, I have "find something to do that will clear your mind." This show is just the solution.
