I just got my dad's old turntable working...

I just also opened up a whole new universe previously unbeknownst to me. I'm only 21 so I kind of grew up in the post-vinyl era. I've always known how good they were *supposed* to sound but daaaaaamn.

Ive got a couple hundred vinyls here...all the big rock classics...the Zepplins, Pink Floyd, about a dozen Gordon Lightfoot, Yardbirds, Clapton, Dylan...man you name it.

But UH HUH thats right NO HIP.

Have the Hip released vinyls for all their albums? Where's a good place to get them, if any?

I have a small vinyl collection myself but have never been able to listen to them till now. All these tracks by big artists I've never heard before too...its really amazing. I can't decide what is more fulfilling to me...sex, or flipping a record over to the other side.

They have released many of their albums on vinyl, but some are VERY hard to find. As MattyM said, eBay is the source anymore. From time-to-time MapleMusic.com has DFN on vinyl but I just checked and it is not available.

That's too bad, I think they were the last ones. I grabbed one. Still in plastic. . . . good luck in your search. If you ever want to get rid of those albums . . . . sounds like a great collection. Enjoy.

Yeah I figured thats what you guys would say but I just thought I'd check...

Mr Ebay is becoming too much of a friend these days eh?

I figure for sure everything up to maybe...Henhouse was released on vinyl..but what about after that? A quick google search tells me theres IVL and IBE vinyls floating around but I don't remember anything at all regarding WC. Is there a WC vinyl in existence?

Ah yes...my bad there. I misread the site I was on...selling used CDs as well as vinyls of different bands.

Perhaps because you had to play the hell out of it for it to sound like a quality recording.

On vinyl, the maximum minutes per side is between 22 and 23... DFN has close to 28 minutes per side. It really destroys the sound quality. Once the record is well played, it begins to sound better, but every time I played it, I was worried it would be the last time before it was worn through.

The first pressing of the EP I have though still sounds incredible Smile

when i talked to rob during the soundcheck for the Hamilton show in February, he mention there was a few copies of IVL made on vinyl which members of the band had got.

Daaaamn. How bout pressing a few more for us people. I'd like to know, or, at least that would be interesting...if they were to release WC or one of the more recent albums on vinyl, how many would sell. If that was announced (before I got my table working) I would have probably bought one anyways. Now that I have a working table I have even more reason to buy one.

And about DFN...

That kind of sucks to hear...DFN is my fav. Could always release 2 discs...no?



BTW Kodachrome is absolutely owning my soul right now.

How does the TATH vinyl sound?

Absolutely amazing!!! I've got hundreds of records and this one is one of the best sounding ones that I have. When you have headphones on, the sounds/instruments sound more distinguishable and fuller (does that make sense?) than on the CD (my opinion of course). The only problem is that I never seem to play it anymore because I'm afraid that the wonderful sound will wear out or I'll make a bone headed move and scratch it. Now that the record is commanding so much on eBay now (I got mine for $26 a few years back), I'll never be able to afford to replace it.

I've got everything up to LBU on vinyl, and DEFINITELY would love to have the entire discography on plastic. I really hope that someday they'll decide to do a short run of all of their albums on vinyl. It sure would make a lot of us vinyl junkies happy.
