Smashing Pumpkins - Zeitgeist - The Darkest Canuck - 07-06-2007
leaked...couple days a go...i have it...i love it!
comes out really soon anyway...Tuesday i believe...
hands down their heaviest album to date....also, i would say its their most focuesed effort since Siamese Dream...it comes in and kicks your ass, no fuckign around, no detours...there's a a couple softer moments, but they blow by so quickly amidst all the swirling , soaring, and often skull rattling guitar work on display here...
BEST END to an album yet too for sure of all their work...you'll have to listen though to hear what i mean...i don't wnana spoil it.
Album of the year so far IMO, i'm biased, but ir really is that good i think.

I listened to it all today, and I have to say its a great album. I had doubts before it came out, but those are long gone, this album rocks hard, well done Billy. And I totally agree TDC, this is definitely there most cohesive album since Siamese Dream, its what a Pumpkins album should sound like.

I saw them at the Newcastle Mayfair (rip) in 97 and they were amazing!!
Admittedly, they were following The Verve who played the dullest set possible, with three screens showing crappy holiday snaps from what looked like the Brekon Beacons on a wet Monday afternoon.
Whatsisface, the singer, couldn't even hear the hecklers properly, actually got into a discussion with one....
'F@~k off you skinny bastard!'
'Who are you calling a stupid bastard?'
'NO, I said SKINNY!'
'Oh, right...'
Totally random, but the Pumpkins rocked.
Great venue too, it got knocked down to make an 'Entertainment area' with cinema, resteraunts, pubs and a night-club.
One of my regular stop off points on a weekend to pick up someone else that has had their 15th bottle of WKD 'spiked'

Caught their performance on the tube at Live Earth - is that really the original band? If it is, Darcy and James have all grown up...so much so, that James doesn't look Asian anymore!!

well, i've seen them twice and they were horrible both times..the first time i was with a die-hard fan who'd never seen them, who actually doesn't even listen to them anymore they were THAT BAD...and after seeing them on Live Earth, even with 2 other members, they still sucked

Don't take that too seriously guys...Opiated would boo the Beatles if they came back together for a 1 concert reunion in his back yard.
If it ain't the White Stripes, Queens of the Stone Age or Jordis Unga he don't want any part of it....just stickin' ya Ope...but you have to admit you are pretty "poo poo" on most bands. You're just a hard guy to please I guess...remind me never to play open mic in Kelowna.

What am I missing? I downloaded it and listened to the last 2 songs and I thought they were pretty lame and certainly not note worthy at all. Not much of a Pumpkins fan and this album falls in line with that for me.
