Matthew Good - Hospital Music - Lizard King - 07-02-2007
Im a huge fan of Matt Good/MGB, so I thought Id mention his new album drops July 31st. You can stream the entire album if you're a registered member of his site. I listened to it today and I think its great, not his best solo effort but he hasn't lost his touch as a songwriter, definitely worth getting if your a fan of Matt Good.

It sounds okay, if a little samey throughout. I can't really bring myself to enjoy MG anymore since he's such a total douchebag, but I'll download the album and give it a few more spins before I totally write it off. Also he's really bleating like a sheep at points on this album, and that gets grating.

Just got back from the Marquee where my friend and I got damn lucky and paid way above face value to this sold out show to a few students who weren't THAT keen on going.
Notice how I didn't say we overpaid. I'd pay 60 bucks to see that show again.
Damn epic.

And then throughout the show, crazy Matt Good songs that I would have never thought he would have played.

I mean, what a sensational night.
Also, Apparations was surreal. With the whole rooming belting it out, it was a damn cool experience. I would have felt awful had we not got into this show. I really hope he comes through again in the near future with a band... especially for this album.
I hope everyone gets a chance to see him.

It's the same night as Wintersleep at the Horseshoe, here in Toronto.

I hope not cause I was planning on going to both. Wintersleep at the Horseshoe is the 16th, and Matt Good at Massey Hall is the 26th isn't it?

i recorded the buffalo show and should get it to the tracker . but i had to get a new hard drive so i need to get all my programs back in order first

Definetly one of my favourites of 2007.
I can't get enough of one song in particular right now, and with lyrics like this... how can you not love it?

No Twin Cities date, unfortunately. I would definitely be interested in checking him out. Hospital Music is my first introduction to Matthew Good. I'm enjoying it so far...are there any other albums from Matthew Good/Matthew Good Band that anyone would like to recommend?

Beautiful Midnight is probably my favourite work of his. And I recently listened to Audio of Being for the first time in a long time - I'd forgotten how good it is too (The Rat Who Would Be King may be the best song he's ever written). And of course there's always Underdogs...
