Well, I couldnt find the old thread, so I decided to start a new one

Well, I did think that there would be a first round KO, but not by Rampage

One thing that pissed me off is that GSP is now gonna have to fight to get his rematch. Because Serra/Hughes is going to run after the next season of TUF(Probably December), GSP will now face Josh Koschek(sp?) at UFC 74. Why in the hell does Serra get to wait 8 months to defend his belt?

i don't know much about UFC but i watched the event on saturday night and all i got to say is chuck got knocked the fuck out! rampage seems like a bit of a nut case. i love his howl & the chains.

Rampage winning shouldn't have come as a big surprise. Chuck hasn't been in the ring with a legit striker in a while. Rampage is a better boxer than Chuck and isn't afraid to stand with him; therefore, everyone saw what happened. This is the second time that Rampage whooped Chuck's ass. Dan Henderson would probably beat Chuck also, and might beat Rampage. Shogun is also a guy who would defeat Chuck and I'd say Shogun is the best LHW in the world right now. He owns a devastating win over Rampage already.

Karo never disappoints me. If you see that he's on a card, watch him fight. He is a phenomenal grappler, good on the ground (on bottom and top), has fantastic judo skills, and has improved his striking tenfold.

They had to have him wait because it makes for good TV, the student returning and becoming the teacher. At least we get to see it for free :mrgreen:

It was a good card Saturday night, had a few guys over, a few beers, good times all around.

Rampage has a chance to be a legit breakout star, he's a phenomenal fighter and his act with the chain and howling, plus his entertaining personality (if you saw any of the pre-fight hype you'll know what I mean), and Dana White has to be thrilled with the possibilities of Rampage being the face of UFC.

The cool thing is, even with the recent string of upsets (GSP losing to Serra, Couture beating Sylvia, Gonzaga beating Cro Cop), the action is so good it almost makes up for the favourites losing. Probably easy for me to say with all the attention it is getting recently, but UFC has nowhere to go but up from here. I'm definitely a fan.

The sad part of the UFC is the inbred fans that showed up and booed Rampage. Most of them have no clue who Rampage is. They don't know that he's been slamming world class competition and knocking out top fighters like Arona and Randleman for years. Even the way Dana White promotes the UFC is disgusting. He consistently trashes smaller organizations and instead of saying the sport of MMA is growing, Dana says that the UFC is growing rapidly. Dana is a piece of garbage.

Shogun is the best LHW if the world and the hick UFC fans don't have a clue who he is. Dan Henderson is an absolute beast and he gets booed by the UFC fans? For what? Being one of the absolute best fighters on the planet?

Liddell/Vanderlei Silva is the next logical fight for both guys, and Dana White wants it to happen. We all know that Chuck feasted on wrestlers for the better part of the last three years. Rampage KHTFO and if Vanderlei lands on the button, Chuck will be on his ass again. Silva might be shot himself though because he's been in wars for a while and has been KO'd brutally in his last two fights. And to think, Chuck was talking about fighting an absolute BEAST like Fedor (#1 fighter on the planet in MMA).

So it looks like Couture has retired once again. This time leaving as champion. Looks like he only really wanted to fight Fedor, no one else.

I talked to a friend of mine who really knows his MMA, and he's convinced that the organization that signed Fedor will eventually sign Couture and have that fight under their banner (I think it's called M-1 Mixfight or something like that) instead of the UFC. If that does happen, I wonder if that organization will get enough of a shot in the arm to rival the UFC in popularity. Certainly interesting things ahead in the MMA world if this does come to pass.

Yeah, it's M-1. I wouldn't be surprised if Couture came back to the UFC. He did retire already before just to come back.

Hopefully Silva retains his belt this weekend. I'm also looking forward to Vera beating The Big Ogre, Tim Sylvia.

Silva destroyed Franklin again. It was pretty sweet! The Vera/Sylvia fight wasn't worth watching. It was U G L Y ! Jorge Gurgel got the crap beat out of him which was nice. Pretty poor PPV but I didn't pay for it so I'm not angry. Seeing Silva dominate Franklin again was worth the wait.

That Sylvia/Vera fight was garbage. Can't wait for Sylvia to do more of the same to Nog and then we'll prob get him vs Lesnar. Wow I just mapped out 2 horrible fights for the UFC to waste our time on for the title in a division that should be disbanded. Other than that the other thing I took away from this ppv was that I don't know who is going to be the one to stop Anderson Silva, that guy is a machine and can do a lot of damage in whatever situation he is put in

I think it'll still happen, but I think that it'll be in either early or late March.

Dan Henderson, Matt Lindland are the only two fighters that I can see who would have a chance of beating Silva. Hendo says he wants to fight at 205 so I guess that leaves only Lindland, even though he doesn't even fight for the UFC.

What are you talking about, Sylvia will do the same to Big Nog? Nog will not lose to the slow, methodical ogre known as Tim Sylvia. Nog is one of the best fighters on the universe. It was quite telling that Sylvia called out Kongo after the fight and didn't even mention Nog's name. That tells me everything I need to know. Lesnar is a sideshow. He has ONE MMA fight. He's a complete joke as of now. He could be good in time but I doubt it.
