The server that the tracker lives on needs to be restarted... and unfortunately the only guy who can do that is away until Monday....

No news yet... but I think that it is time to buy our own server. I have the static IP/connection; we can get the OS for free (Linux); we just need the computer. So if anyone out there wants to chip in, or has a spare computer kicking around, please let me know.

what kind of computer is required for that kind of job???

and, what kind of $$$ would we have to raise??? I for 1 would definately help....perhaps you could set up some kind of hiptracker membership deal, though that might not be legal in retrospect (kind of like selling the hip's music, which would be a no no....) maybe the boys could put on a charity gig!!!

in all seriousness though, i think that if everyone who uses that sight on a regular basis chipped in a few bucks you'd be able to get whatever is required....

one other thought...any chance that the band/MAv might be willing or able to help in some way???

Like someone else said before, I've taken way more than I've given over the years. Since it took me 10 minutes to figure out OS stood for Operating System I doubt I will be able to upload anything to the Tracker until they invent technology where you hold a cassette tape next to the computer and the data is transferred via osmosis.

I do however understand the world of Finance, just let me know how I can help.
