Hip Show In Saskatoon This Weekend? - bug_superstar79 - 03-29-2007
I've heard rumors from different people that The Hip are supposed to be playing a surprise gig at the Pat in Saskatoon on Saturday night. If anybody has heard anything similar, or knows anything about it could they please let me know?

The dirty old Pat...sounds like a bad rumour to me. Fantastic if they do, but the Pat is such a dump, at least it was when I lived there.

They did alot of renovations on it, it don't look too 1/2 ass bad now, I think the Hip wouldn't mind settin up shop in it :thumb:

I'll be in Saskatoon this weekend for the Junos and I hope this rumour turns out to be true. But then again, if it is true, what would I have to do to get in?

I was contemplating a short road trip to Saskatoon this weekend...now I may have to really look into it!!! The weather's nice...I can mooch some accommadations...what the heck, it's worth a shot!!!
But as Hefner says, how would one get a ticket......

The Pat's a bar, so all 1 has to do is show up and pay your cover charge,I'm prawly making abit of an assumption but I'd say this is no diffrent than any other joe band showing up for a bar gig,only difference is this band is the biggest in Canada and they prawly want to keep this as quiet as possible but If its true,it wont be a secret for long...

I called the Pat today and was told they're not participating in Junofest Saturday night and that there will be no band that night. The woman I spoke with said it will be ladies night and the entertainment will be their regular DJ.
Rumor dispelled? Could they be playing somewhere else?

Hmm, you have to wonder if that is a prepared statement...why would the Pat have Junofest bands on Friday but not Saturday? I suppose they could be bucking the trend, but........
The only other Venue on the Junofest list is The Odeon...they also have 4 bands scheduled tonight, and nothing tomorrow???

Three Days Grace is the 'secret band' at the Odeon Saturday night - I doubt the Hip would share a stage with that band. I honestly don't believe there is any band playing at the Pat Saturday night. If the Hip really were going to play a club show in Saskatoon, the Pat would be one of the last places they would play IMO. But I will be swinging there by tomorrow afternoon just to make sure

Are we certain about an appearance last night??? There's been absolutely no mention on any radio stations about this...and a friend of a friend was supposedly there for Wide Mouth Mason, didn't mention any surprises...although there was rumor of a Gord Downie sighting...perhaps casing the joint out......

I talked to a friend who works at the Pat last night before his shift and he said if the Hip were playing, he would know about it, and he hadn't heard anything. I don't believe they played at the Pat.
