The Who / The Tragically Hip concerts:: anybody going? -
sean.bonner - 02-26-2007
The first of the five dates start tonight, and I was hoping some people were heading out to these so we could get some setlists posted and whatnot.
It will be interesting to see the format and the choices of songs.
To all who are heading out, have fun and stay hip :thumb:

Have fun! The Who can still put on an amazing show... so I hear/seen (DVD style). Also, I'm not sure if they've been playing Eminence Front, which I could probably find out through some simple internet searching, but I'm a bit too lazy, so can you post whether or not that's in The Who's set as well?

How I miss the good old days when we could see them twice each tour in AZ and always truly amazing shows -- up close and personnel.
If anyone recalls the last show the Hip played at a club in Phoenix, Gordy dropped the mic and walked off stage due to a crowd issue in front of the stage. They didn't do an encore that night. I'd really hate for that to be the last
real show we see of them here.

I went to the one in San Diego last night. It was amazing. My first Hip show, Only eight songs, but... Wow. I got to meet Gord afterwards, too which was great. I'm going to go see them two other times this month, and they'll be headlining those times. Can't wait.

The Hip have played in San Diego many times on their own. Did they get a decent reception? They must have some following in Southern Cali.

I met about seven or eight fans there, but they were all originally from Canada/Northern US. Most people I talked to had no idea who was opening, and even less who the Hip were. The reception after their set, though, was surprising. I didn't hear one bad word about them. Everyone I talked to liked them a lot, actually. I was still surprised to see even as many Hip fans as I did. I thought I was one of the only ones in San Diego... But I guess not. I think they're bigger up in L.A., and I'll just have to see if that's true.
