Because they're a MUCH better team than they showed in the last couple of games. I also think our lack of offence and shitty power play finally bit us in the ass. If the Flames had just a little more scoring punch, they would've won that series in game 6. Not to take anything away from the Ducks. They're a very good team. But the Flames that I know and love didn't bother to show up for half that series, and that's why they lost. It's depressing as hell. Here's hoping Sutter adds the right pieces over the summer to make things right in the universe again.

It's interesting to see posts talking about the lack of scoring power of the Flames, when just before the playoffs started there were a few posts on here saying this year's Flames are different than the previous season's team and were getting scoring from many people this year. :lol:

And to say the Flames are a much better team than they were in that series, had they just had a bit more offense they could have one in 6... well scoring goals is what the game it all about, so i don't think they were as good of a team as some of you thought. If the Ducks had a bit more offense, maybe they could of won in 6...or had JS Giguere just been a bit better, etc. etc. etc.

Yeah, it seems that heading into the playoffs the general consensus was that while they still had trouble scoring, they were a more offensively talented team than the '04 version, and the '04 version seemed to score when they had to, so why wouldn't the '06 version? I mean Langkow in '06 was a better goal scorer than Conroy in '04, and they really had nothing like a Huselius in '04. So it is pretty frustrating for Flames fans when a more offensively talented team in '06 couldn't score the clutch goals that an inferior '04 team did. I imagine that crossbar in Game 6 is going to bug Huselius all offseason.

I think one guy that they really missed was Ville Nieminen. They didn't seem to have one of those "in your face uber-annoying guys who goads the other team into stupid penalties" this time around. I think he would have annoyed Selanne to no end.

And who could have predicted the struggles of Phaneuf? He ended up with only 1 goal, had the worse +/- on the team at -8, and seemed to panick whenever the puck came his way. Given his personality, I'm sure he's not going to enjoy the offseason - even after his excellent rookie season.

now i can't decide if i should cheer for Edmonton, or Colorado...

Edmonton is a Canadian team, and probably won't have a better playoffs than this year's in a long time...

but on the other hand, Colorado has Theodore, and if Montreal can't win the cup, it would still be nice to see #60 raise Lord Stanley above his head...

eaither way i hope one of them beats whoever emerges from the East.

You're a Suns fan? I thought I was the only one. I didn't want to start a thread about the NBA though. Here's hoping for a Game 7 victory. The obstacles the Suns have had to overcome have been formidable but they haven't won anything yet.

I missed the majority of the game, but caught the last 10 minutes of the 3rd and the whole 18 seconds of overtime, and that was insane!

That game was simply crazy....it was the game of "seconds" The description of every goal was categorized by either how many seconds it was from the drop of the opening face off, or the number of seconds between goals, or the number of seconds left in the period/or game.

I bet you any amount of money John Muckler is beating himself up right now for not getting a better back up goalie than Ray Emery because he looked awful, absolutely awful. I know it's only 1 bad game, and I know he just led the Sens into Round 2 of the playoffs but that is simply not how a potential Stanley Cup champion goalie plays when the game is on the line.

Being a Leafs fan I'm somewhat blase about the playoffs now, but I must say I was VERY entertained watching last night's game...viva new NHL!!!!
