First and foremost, thank you for being a talented, gritty, and classy hockey player Steve Yzerman. This is probably it for him and it has been a joy to grow up watching Stevie-Y.

What a ridiculous comeback by the Oilers tonight. Man, they looked terrible in the second, but what a fantastic final frame! Hemsky was the man on the spot tonight.

hopefully Calgary can close it out in game 7, they haven't been to impressive this series but at least they'll be in Calgary for game 7. Edmonton's comeback was unreal. I've never seen such hard work, every Edmonton player was skating harder than Detroit and they were winning all the battles in the third. And Ethan Moreau blocking that shot at the end with no stick is one of the guttsiest plays I've ever seen, thats heart, and its plays like that that put Edmonton ahead of Detroit in the series.

for the first time that I can remember, I spent an entire period of hockey Standing in front of the TV, Keith's in hand, adorned in my Oilers jersey, with the cat (no, not Little Bones) at my feet as I nervously paced and shifted from side to side.

Wow..... I was cursing up and down after the 2nd (16-2 shots anyone?) They played 1000000X better in the third.

I was so happy it that I literally laid in bed for an hour trying to go to sleep.

Just wow.

And I agree on Ethan blocking the shot. Same with Horcoff last game. Giving your self to the game baby.......


Use it up, don't save a thing for later..........

Tough to close out a series when you're short-handed for the entire 3rd period. Seems if you so much as fart in Anaheim's direction, you get a penalty. The Ducks have been given so many 5 on 3's in this series, I've lost count. I hate the new NHL. It's time for the Flames to finally take charge and close this out on Wednesday with a dominating win. The crowd at the 'Dome is gonna be absolutely nuts, and I hope the team can feed off that energy. I predict pain for the Ducks. GO FLAMES!!!

Well, they had to make up for that HORRIBLE call on Selanne's disallowed goal, right? That was a butchered call.

On a bright note, Iginla fought at the start of the game and tried to fight at the end. What a leader. :thumb:

I agree Anaheim got totally screwed on that one, and I actually felt bad for the Ducks. Just an absolutely brutal call. And that was just the beginning, as the horrendous reffing continued throughout the game. The zebras have been a complete joke all year. No consistency whatsoever. As a fan it's frustrating as hell.

Man, that was a horrible call. I don't understand how he could be standing right there and be so off on the timing.

The Flames just seem like a different team to me when they don't have to win versus when they do have to win. The Game 6 team was nowhere near as relentless as the Game 5 team. I wonder why it is they can't maintain any sort of consistency from game to game.

As for Iginla fighting, is it really a good idea to have your best player sitting in the penalty box for five minutes? I mean I think it is cool for Iginla to fight his own battles and all that, but it leaves a gaping hole in the Flames offense when he takes himself out of the game like that.

true, but you can't depend on him to be the one scoring for you all the time...if he can motivate the team by fighting, then so be it, i wouldn't send him out to fight, or encourage him to, but if he feels that it will help the team, then i think you gotta let him go...

If i was a Flames fan, it wouldn't bother me that Iggy would have to sit in the box for 5 minutes. On one hand i think it's great to see Iginla drop the mits, no question about it that has to motivate your club. But on the other hand, i hate seeing a guy like Iginla or Lecavalier fight in the playoffs, i mean what would happen if Iginla would of broken his hand last night?

Wow, 5-0 already. I thought Philly would win tonight and force a 7th game. There's a chance that the top 4 seeds could advance in the East, while the bottom 4 seeds advance in the West.

Yeah, it would be tragic if Iginla got hurt but that's the way he plays. I don't think you can change him. He needs to play with that edge to be effective.

The other night on Sunday Night Baseball the commentators were talking about Grady Sizemore of the Indians and how he plays all out and hits the wall and plays at a high speed all the time. They said that could shorten his career but you can't change him. You couldn't change the way Lenny Dykstra played either. I know that's baseball but Iginla has that same mindset in hockey. Sure, I'd be holding my breath every time he fought but that's just what you get with Iginla.

You know what's good about the win by Anaheim? We get to see a game 7 in front of a crazy sea of Calgary fans. The electricity is going to be through the roof for that game. Let's hope the referees let the players decide the game. :thumb:

Couldn't agree more. Enough with all the 5 on 3's. Just let the two teams battle it out even strength. That's what playoff hockey is all about, and hopefully we'll see that in game 7. I don't mind penalties being called, but for the love of god, let's see some f**king consistency for a change.
