The Marketing of the Hip's CD's since World Container has been very poor - with no rationale, rhyme, or reason. IMO.

I agree with BakersBrew on this one, it just doesn't make any sense to me why The Hip wouldn't cash in on their reputation as a summer/cottage/campfire/backyard type band. Why *any* band finishes an album and sits on it for months is a complete mystery to me in the modern age but I guess that's why I'm not a music marketing executive

I agree, this thing should be out in June. July at the very latest. I'm wondering if it has something to do with tour planning? Maybe there were some scheduling conflicts or family commitments that resulted in the Hip not being able to start a world tour until the fall. So the band and their label decided to sit on the album for the time being and put it out in September to coincide with the start of the tour. Just a guess.

I've noticed that bands/artists have been releasing tease singles before albums are out. I'm guessing another single will be released before the album comes out. Probably first week of August-ish. Also, my fingers are crossed for a warm-up show for fanclub members. I'm in Kingston for the summer and would love to be able to make my first thehip.com show, because I'm willing to bet that Atlantic Canada will never get a fanclub show... ...but one can still dream for The Hip at the Imperial Theatre in Saint John, No Funswick someday.

Maybe it was a decision by the hip. Maybe they would rather spend the majority of summer with their families and tour in the fall.

Don't get me wrong, I think they should be touring constantly and pump out and album every spring.

there is going to be a small show taking place b4 this series of concerts takes place.
