tigerthelion Wrote:John Tortorella is an assclown. You don't rip your players like that publicly. What an ass! We all know Burke and Grahame suck but that doesn't give the coach the right to basically rip Grahame and blame him for all of Tampa's woes. The goaltending has been bad but it would be nice if the defense showed up and the forwards came back once in a while. Tortorella doesn't have Khabibulin there this year to make him look like a great coach. How can the players respect a guy who singles out players that viciously? Darryl Sutter singles out players but he doesn't come out and rip them in that manner. Tortorella should be ashamed of himself.
It sure was nice of him to throw a player under the bus like that. I'm sure that will motivate the Lightning. He also said earlier in the week that Emery is Ottawa's weak link. Sounds like he's got a serious hard-on for goalies in general.

Poor Penguins, Mario might have to dig real deep to get Malkin..

It should be interesting to see how it plays out. I dont see Pitts. paying alot of money, I doubt if they could anyway. I dont know all the details about this arrangement, but I thought because Malkin had been drafted already he was property of the Pens? Is Russia going to start demanding huge transfer fees for its players if they are under contracts over there, and will other countries follow suit? Or is this some sort of isolated case?

Tortorella is an absolute jackass....I have 2 very good friends and ex-teammates who play for him right now, and on very good authority I can vouch that the Tampa Bay lockerroom is not a happy place...ever!!
The players have no respect for him as a coach or as a person, and his recent actions show that these feelings are very much justified. It's funny how more often than not you can tell a guy is a real tit just by looking at him!!!

Well all of a sudden i'll be cheering for the Flames tonight, instead of the Ducks. Going into this series, this is one upset i just didn't see happening. It's starting to look like a great 2nd round in the West though, with a Flames/Oilers matchup likely, meaning also the Sharks would play the Avs.
And if this is indeed Steve Yzerman's last NHL game, thanks for the memories Stevie! He played a hell of a game tonight, and really has been great for about 6 weeks now.
