Sam Roberts
Matt Mays + EL Torpedo
both are in toronto on the 10th for Vfest
and Mobile who are with SLFA management where almost all the acts for the festival are from

Ill be there, the show is only a 5 minute walk from my house. I wonder where everyone will go after the show for drinks now that the good bars are closed up.

I'll be there to, can't wait. Hey hipgirl from stratford, what do you mean all the good bars are closed? Where would you recommend going?

My wife and I are planning on spending the day in Stratford and going for dinner... would we be better to simply walk from the town to the concert site? Or is it better to drive?

Nick

Drive.. your ticket includes on site parking... it would be a good hike from downtown to the site... the concert site apears to be on the south side of town.

I think they are having buses again that are going to be taking people from City hall to the concert, but I would take a cab its only $7.00 to go anywhere in stratford.

Your beauty must be rubbing off on me...

The opening bands for THE HIP are a bit of a disapointment for me, oh well I guess I won't head down till they are over. I really was hoping for something a little cooler. Its still going to be a great night anyway, I just can't wait any longer to see my favorite band.

- crazykid - 08-16-2006

I think there is a still a few slots to be filled,

I know Chris from Standingovation.ca posted that we need to wait til Thursday... so im thinking there is some more announcments to be made then.

Well have to wait and see. But your right, it will allow me to work til 5 then head to stratford that day.

Or... (stay with me here) ... you could go to the concert when the doors open and give these bands a chance. And what if you don't enjoy one single song they play? Well, there are plenty of people to talk to (scores of Hip fans), there's a beertent and lots of other little vendor shops to check out at the venue. You don't need to park yourself in the crowd and wait (un)patiently for the Hip to come on.

This Festival is all about diversity of Canadian musical talent. I don't know what's "cooler" or what could have made it any less of a "disappointment", but I think the bands will put on a good show.

Open up your mind and your ears a little...
