Again, these are very similar to the arena prices in 2013 so I don't know what the bit shock is. I don't like it either, but it's not like the tickets were going to get cheaper.
If I recall, the top priced tickets guaranteed somewhere between rows 1 and 15 on the floor (Brandon, MB was within row 5, Winnipeg was row 10, Toronto was a bit farther back). I opted for the second highest price in Winnipeg which was approx $100 and landed in row 10. I've seen the band close enough that being 20 ft closer and spending an extra $80 between two tickets wasn't worth it.

Age isn't the issue on either end of the equation.

-Prices are fine. They are well...welllll within industry standard and reflect basic supply and demand.
-It's not a cash grab, that would imply that a) The HIP members are hard up for cash which I highly doubt and b) the average HIP fan wouldn't consider it a dream come true to see them play the whole album live.
-Shame on the no Ottawa show, perhaps they will play Bluesfest 2015 which is why they don't have an Ottawa show (though that's one of the worst venues, I'd rather drive a few hours to see them somewhere else than trying to get to and from that middle of nowhere/no-parking/downtown Ottawa location. I wish there was a Syracuse show and/or Lewiston show and/or Watertown and/or Brockville....

Not worth it anymore. Especially for awful sounding arena shows. If it was an intimate show setting, it might be worth it and it would have to be like a 3 hour show. Bands like Pearl Jam and Springsteen charge this price and are worth it. Not a screaming Gord Downie anymore.

Enough with the Pearl Jam comparisons already. We asked for this. Right here on Hipbase we asked for remastered reissues of old albums and a tour like this. Still we bitch and moan because they gave us what we want. Sure it will be expensive for folks up north who will pay standard market prices for
the shows. It's 2014 and concerts are expensive. I had a hard time ponying up the cash for the first show back in the day. Now I can afford it. Life moves on but at least we still have The Tragically Hip.

i have always loved FC so i support this tour FULLY COMPLETELY
i have seen the hip enough times to know, by now, just to be in the building will be good enough for me. long gone are the days where i need to be close to the stage for any band.
i might do a few shows in the cheap seats. depending on availability as show day approaches. i will see at least 1 show on this tour.

I do not know the difference in the extreme prices - but for $143 it better let me play the part of Billy Ray for the night.
And write the damn setlist.
Cleveland:
US $59.50
and
US $73.00
St Catharines:
CA $134.25
Vancouver:
CA $35.10
and
CA $143.80
Toronto:
CA $33.00
and

no way i'm paying > $100 to see them in moncton. like others said.. if they were going to play 3+ hours like pj or springsteen, then i'd shell out the cash for sure.

This is a tough one. I really would like to go to the two Chicago shows.
Positives: small venue w/ decent sound, reasonable price, mid-week so maybe out-of-towners & 'casual' fans might not be able to go /want to go, FC in total (We'll Go Too - a white whale for me).
Negs: will this be FC and a couple other standard 'hits' tunes, clocking in at 1h20min (like the last show I saw in Windsor, which was my least favorite show by far), song interpretation (like most people, would prefer the songs be sung as on the albums and not 'aggressive' w/ different phrasings), cost of getting there & winter in Chicago (I live in the Orlando FL area), the usual pushing & drunk idiocy that goes with a GA show.
I'd really like to know up front how long they intend to play. I've been spoiled by PJ & Springsteen tours of 2.5-3.5 hours, including lots of deep cuts every night. A set under 2 hrs just doesn't cut it for me anymore, especially for a band that has such a huge catalog of great tunes.
I wish the Chicago dates were in April to get an idea of what to expect. We'll see how the free show goes on Wed. Not much to go by but at least it's something.
