This place is still awsome.
I think that everybody is just getting their panties in a knot due to the new album coming out and the tour.
We are all just so horny and excited. We are getting delierious.
That was probably an overreaction, but nevertheless.. and dark canuck.. dont doubt me.

re post counts: My post count seems to have been reset at some point... I didn't have many either but there were more! Just saying!
Anyway I was looking at a gift card for Cineplex/Galaxy the other day and it said that the chain only operates from BC to Quebec (no Maritimes) and that same day, the theatre show announcement came out and I thought of this + the lack of concerts out there

It was more than bonner being bonner again..ill deal with him. But i dont want to disrupt this thread anymore.
Id love to stay and fight and tapdance all over you but my time is up. Its a young mans game and if I cant compete at the top level anymore I need to be out to pasture. Opiated was supposed to take up my mantle but he turned in his wings, if your up to the task go for it.

This is all true.
However you may be forgetting that Radiohead also did a similar thing. For free. Then they gave those videos to iTunes....for free.
It may not have been on a giant screen but far more people watched it than they would have had it been a theatre show.
Radiohead also did an IMAX show for HTTT, with comparable ticket prices to the Hip.
Well then. Was I living under a rock in 2004 or what?
Of course, Radiohead is now without a label, and a theatre show thing for HTTT would have been when they were still under EMI.

I think this is cool, hoping to see some fellow londoners there.....cash grab? yup, but at least it's something different. HOWEVER....please tell me this is the last "GET A NEW ALBUM" deal....itunes/cineplex/vault 4/etc....and I totally hate the way this band announces stuff...first it was the london show...so i bought tix...THEN the "evening with" shows...can't really afford more shows (new baby 5 weeks ago), then the new album pre-order deals, then this (also with the new album)....man, just announce everything at once so we can plan how to give you our $$$..times are tight!!!

Im gonna agree with the above post about how they are announcing things right now... it seems pretty scattered... and money is tight these days...
Ill be trying to goto the London showing, if there is one of course....

Now, for one thing, this not my attempt at bitchin, nor 'nitting' or any such matter. I have had a smile on my face ever since this new album was officially announced and it hasn't faded once. And this is just an observation about Cineplex.
If you actually count the amount of the theaters they have in the drop down menu, they have 95 theaters - spreading from BC to Quebec - so whoever mentioned earlier about that, they were probably right.
Now, maybe and hopefully, there is some sort of partnership that Cineplex has for the Maritimes that will give us the chance, but if not, then I am still satisfied with everything else the Hip has put out there for us over the last four weeks. And since there is going to be 80 theaters showing this, and 95 theaters in total, chances are, there will be one near you.
Now remember, this is all just an observation, and a hopeful opinion.

Surely there will not be a Windsor viewing, after all....Ontario does end at London doesn't it?,although if there were I would gladly attend.
Guess us Windsor and Essex County folk will have to wait till the Detroit shows to sell out both nights(at what I would guess 90% cdn capacity) and spend all our money stateside.
Wish the Hip camp would forgo future Detroit shows and set up shop in Windsor.
