I'm a Belle & Sebastian fan. I might have to say that 'Like Dylan in the Movies' is one of my favorites. In fact, I think I'll listen to it now.

Matt Nathanson. He has a show at the Elmocombo in Toronto tonight. Check him out if you are in the area. Good stuff!

:thumb: I LOVE your taste in music...I missed your earlier post, but Most Of The Time is one of the greatest "un-Dylan" Dylan songs ever. I love it to death, and Oh Mercy is a powerful album.

And in an incredible coincidence, that neatly ties into B&S - I only discovered Bell and Sebastian when I was searching for "Dylan" looking for covers and came across "Like Dylan in the Movies." It was the first B&S song I ever heard, the first I ever loved, and in fact I loved it so much I went and got If You're Feeling Sinister immediately, and I never looked back! Sinister is still one of the greatest pop albums ever, by my reckoning...I can't get enough of Me and the Major either!!

Franklin's Fault, s/t debut album. They're an ex-Kingston band that broke up, moved on, then reconvened in Toronto and got back together; saw 'em the other night at a bar on Yonge Street and they totally and utterly blew me away. Awesome ska/punk/funk/rock band--check 'em out if you get a chance.

Agreed! :thumb:

"Most of the Time" is a fantastic song and Oh Mercy is such a great record. I've always been a big Dylan fan, but I especially like his work with Daniel Lanois, specifically Time Out of Mind, which in my opinion is an absolute masterpiece.

Oh lord yes... "Can't Wait", "Standing In the Doorway", "Not Dark Yet" and "Million Miles' always make me feel so much closer to my deathbed! I thought for sure TOOM was his last album, it sounded like he must have had some disease none of us knew about, but thank god he lived long enough to record Love & Theft...
