Finally got to see a few of the Tribe's games on television. I really wanted that sweep! :rambo: :rambo: Shame to see Cliff Lee pitch nine scoreless innings and not get the win. Marcum pitched great! The Jays have a terrible offense, and so do the Indians.

Thats an understatement. Some of those guys would be bad minor league hitters, its pretty embarrassing actually. Gregg Zaun's not a great hitter, but I get extremely angry when Rod Barajas starts at catcher.

On a somewhat related note. Hitting seems to be down all over the league this year, maybe steroid use is starting to be somewhat eradicated.

Oh, I think steroid use is virtually non-existant now. The risk has finally completely overshadowed the reward.

Punishments for positive test results are now: 50-game suspension for 1st / 100-game suspension for 2nd / Lifetime Ban for 3rd. Year-round, random testing ensures that every major league player will be tested at least once a year, and an unspecified number of players are selected at random to be tested numerous other times throughout the year. So once a player is tested, he has no way of knowing if he will be tested again in a given year.

HGH is still probably still being used here and there, but its use for performance enhancement will soon go the way of the steriod with mandatory testing just around the corner.

Now we see who really has superior skills.

I know that they haven't been facing All-Star hitting lineups recently, but, yeah, it's been quite fantastic.

In the last seven games, the Indians' starting pitching:

6-0 0.16 ERA 55 1/3 innings

The Indians' starters had pitched 44 1/3 consecutive scoreless innings before Laffey gave up an UNEARNED run in the second inning against the A's.

I see that the Tribe are starting a series with the Reds tomorrow. Go Tribe! :rambo:

where did Cliff Lee come from? he's always been a fairly average pitcher, but this year he is absolutely unhittable. I know its still early but I wonder if it will last.

He hasn't always been average. He went 18-5 with a 3.79 ERA in 2005. He was acquired in the Colon trade to the Expos, along with Grady Sizemore and Brandon Phillips if my memory serves me correctly. He had a terrible year last season. His bubble will break at some point, but I think that he will win 18-20 games this season. A record this season of 20-8 with an ERA of 3.50 doesn't sound unreasonable in my opinion. Of course, his team is actually going to have to hit a little bit for him to win 20 games, so I could be wrong. Look at his last outing. He pitched nine scoreless innings against the Jays and got a no decision. :nooooo

There's another guy named Roy Halliday with a similar problem. 4 straight complete games and only winning one of them is absolutely ridiculous.
