playoffs is a whole new lease on life though, once you're in, you've got just as good a chance as anybody else...HEY TAMPA BAY...WHATCHA GONNA DO? WHATCHA GONNA DO BROTHERS?!?!?!?! WHEN HABAMANIA RUNS WILD ON YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rambo:

in the nhl there is no "forgive and forget", bring it on motherfuckers!

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

GO HABS GO!

- tragicallymike - 03-13-2006

Sabres are in the fight for that Presidents trophy. They have been playing some bananas hockey as of late!

- The Darkest Canuck - 03-13-2006

they sure have, i gotta give credit where credit is due, they have had hell of a season so far, and i'd actually rather see them win the division than Ottawa, i wouldn't say they're in a fight for the President's trophy though...

who cares about any of that shit anyway though, because all that matters is one thing...

i dunno, i googled it.

- opiated - 03-13-2006

ok..now i'm starting to think the canucks DON'T want to make they playoffs...

- The Darkest Canuck - 03-14-2006

lol, they will though, i'm pissed my habs didn't swep their season series with Tampa Bay tonight and move up on them , oh well, still lots of hockey left to play. probably get to see Abby make his debut in net against Carolina next...

- direwolf74 - 03-14-2006

Ladies and gentlemen, the Flames have OFFENCE!!! Nice to see my boys bounce back after Sunday's game, and it's great to see our forwards finally putting the puck in the net! (it's about freakin' time) We now go on the road for 7 games, so this will be a big test.

GO FLAMES!!!

- thedarkcanuck - 03-14-2006

i would definately say that the sabres are in the hunt for the presidents trophy....4 pts out of 1st overall(i`m as amazed as anyone ) sounds like they are in contention to me...nice to see these "small market" teams challenge the big boys

- cferneyh - 03-14-2006

I never, ever, ever thought I'd see something like this:

Henrik Sedin 65 PTS, +18
Markus Naslund 64 PTS, -11
Daniel Sedin 59 PTS, +14
Todd Bertuzzi 55 PTS, -13

It's funny because I remember any 'nucks fan I talked to prior to this season would have traded the Sedins for a bag of pucks.

- ryan93 - 03-14-2006

I honestly never though much of the Sedin twins and i never thought they'd ever really evolve into top offensive players. They've been outstanding this year though and i've really been impressed. Their line with Carter has been great all season long, but the big line has to pick up their play if the Canucks want to make the playoffs, because at this point i'm no longer convinced they will make it after all. Anaheim is one of the hottest teams in hockey right now & I think they'll make the playoffs. So it could very well come down to, once again, Edmonton and Vancouver. And for what it's worth, i wouldn't completely clean house if i were them, keep Naslund around, but definitely try to trade Bertuzzi if their were any willing trade partners.

I think the Detroit Red Wings will win the Presidents Trophy, they are unreal. IMO by far the best team in the NHL...whether or not they'll go all the way in the playoffs though, i'm not sure (i honestly have no clue who i think will win). Mathieu Schneider & Nick Lidstrom are both having Norris-like seasons, Zetterberg & Datsyuk continue to evolve into superstars (they're probably already there), Brendan Shanahan is scoring at will once again & is pace for another 40 goal season, Steve Yzerman's icetime continues to rise as the playoffs near and he's playing better and better...then there's Robert Lang, a pair of 20+ goal scorers in ex-Ranger Mikael Samuelsson and Tomas Holmstrom, Jason Williams is having a career year, the duo of Kris Draper and Kirk Maltby, an ageless Chris Chelsios, etc. And then you have Manny Legace proving his critics wrong with wonderful season in goal...this team is extremely deep and will be very tough to beat.

I think they have a pretty inflated W/L record given that 29% of their games are against St. Louis, Chicago, and Columbus. It's the weakest division in the NHL by far.

The question for them is if Datsyuk and Zetterberg are going to show up in the playoffs for a change. Zetterberg wanted nothing to do with the corners when the Flames and Wings met in '04.

Speaking of the playoffs, did you hear where starting next season the league is talking of expanding the number of teams making the playoffs in each conference from 8 to 10?
I hope they don't go thru with it, but as with all decisions the league makes, money will dictate what happens... :?

- fingernailsonhull - 03-14-2006

I heard it would be some sort of best 2 of 3 playoff between the 8th and 9th place teams for the 8th seed in each conference.
