Sounds good to me, World Container. In View, so thats the first single, which means that Rink and Drop Off are album tracks? If all the album tracks are as good as Rink and Drop Off, I look forward to this album very much.

Great news!!!!!
The blood is running through the veins!!! Not too long before Stratford. I wonder if we'll hear the tune at Stratford because the single should be out by then!!!!!!!

killer name for the title. quite intrigued by "In View" for sure thought the first single would be one of the songs already played especially rink or drop-off

I'm intrigued by both. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but the more I say "World Container" the more I love it.

Since thehip.com has confirmed it, I would like to officially note that I was the first to employ the short-form WC in a post.
That and $2.12 will buy me a buttered bagel and regular coffee at the Bagel Stop tomorrow morning.

It says "will be released in Canada on October 17th". U.S. will probably be the same date, right?
EDIT: Also, is there any news as to when the single will be out?

I noticed that too. I certainly hope that those of us on this side of the border don't have to wait any longer!

Different label in the US i believe. Likely the same release date as with the last record. Love the title.

If Bob has his way, The Hip are about to produce a very slick, hard-rocking album of medium tempo songs.
He has recently become the destroyer of Canadian bands, being partly responsible for OLP's drastic turn for the worse (unless you disliked them to begin with). With the Tea Party, he was a sign of desperation for renewal and "back-to-basicsness" on their final album. With them, though, he only produced three tracks, so is there certainty that he'll be producing the whole thing or just some of the tracks? If he's only doing some of them, then it might be interesting to see what happens.
No matter what, though, I'm still psyched for the new album. I don't believe that a producer can "ruin" the Hip. All he can do is bring out / restrain certain qualities in their sound.
