This is the best game in years...we scored in the first minute, and Pierre McGuire FINALLY said something trying to be funny that made me chuckle instead of wanted to deck him..."They gotta start calling diving. These guys are going down like free bar at a frat party."

PS - Thumbs up to Petr Vrana (captain of the Halifax Mooseheads) for the overtime winner against the US!

Well that was an underwhelming first period. Every time a party threatened to break out, it's more penalties. And the slowest penalties ever - it took like 60 seconds to explain them to the coaches each time! Talk about a buzzkill!
But the second period...holy f**king shit. These Russians are the most relentless animals I have seen. This is brutal, an absolute embarassment - a Russian has already been thrown out of the game and it's only half over!
These Russians are an insult to the game. I haven't seen any of the Russian games so far so I didn't realize all the criticism against them was so valid. Now I really feel for the Americans, I heard they got walloped at the end of the semi-final...the announcers just said the US players were practically begging the Canadians to beat the brutes.
But it's 6-1 and that's all that matters!! Finesse trumps force every time!!!

Why do you hope they break his neck? Real classy! They say the Russians have no class but what about the Canadian fans booing when the Russian all stars were announced after the game? Yeah, really classy Canadian fans eh? :roll: If the Russians suck, then what did Canada accomplish? If the Russians are so bad, then the Canadians didn't do anything special by beating them did they?

WOW!! Outstanding performance by Canada. They toyed with Russia today the way a cat toys with a wounded mouse.
This was probably the best team Canada has ever sent to the World Juniors... size, speed, skill, toughness, playmaking, heart... you name it, we got it! Believe it or not, that makes it two major hockey tournaments in a row that Canada has never trailed at any time! Unbelievable domination by the superior hockey nation... CANADA!!!

I wonder if the Washington Crapitals are going to draft Ovechkin's skirt in '05. Looks like he doesn't go too far without it.

First of all, he didn't need to. Everyone else picked up the slack. It was a total team effort.
Second of all, he might not have done much on the scoreboard, but he was a force in the corners like he was all tourney. How many times did you see Ovechkin working his ass off in the corners? He was too busy attending to his boo-boo.
