I dunno, Dame....I have never in my 31 years heard so many of my voting peers be so determined to vote an incumbent out of the White House. The hate for Bush is so palpable - I simply cannot fathom how he can possibly eek this one out. We’ll see what kind of “bounce” he gets from the upcoming Convention, but I have a feeling that the pollsters are underestimating what impact the closeness of the 2000 election will have on left-wing voter turnout this November. I think there will be a groundswell for Kerry when democrats re-ignite the less-educated, more gullible faction of their constituency with reminders of how Bush supposedly “stole” the 2000 election (even though he won fair and square by the system we have maintained since the birth of our nation).
You know, for a conservative republican, I'm not much of a Bush fan, and would much rather be voting for a guy like John McCain. But I simply do not understand how or why the hatred for Bush has escalated to the level it has. Don't get me wrong - I think Bush deserves some criticism for the way he has handled certain things, and I personally think the guy spends waaaayyyy to much. But the media has the bulk of the American people thinking Bush is Satan, and Kerry is our savior, and I don't think many of this nation's bourgeois has the faintest idea what they are rallying for and fighting against. I can’t even watch some of my favorite TV shows anymore without suffering a barrage of Bush-bashing, and I’m starting to lose a lot of respect for some very intelligent men, like John Stewart and Bill Mahr, for instance. They are funny as hell, but just don’t seem to know where to draw the line. Performances by this country's 'entertainers' are laiden with the liberal agenda, and it sickens me.
I’m sure non-Americans everywhere will rejoice when ANY warm body replaces Bush as president, but I cringe when I think about what Kerry and his merry band of weak-kneed, tax-happy liberals might do to the economic welfare and the security of our nation, as well as other nations around the globe.

first off FAIR AND SQUARE!!!!!!!!!! WTF! are you drunk!?!?!?!?!?!
2nd: Stewart makes just as much fun of Kerry as he does Bush, but the jokes aren't as damaging and brutal because Kerry isn't a grade AAA jackass like Bush.

now here's what boggles my mind, talk about brainwashed, every single person i've ever heard opposed to Kerry or the Democrats always mentions weakness, or them being pussies, or something similar. why? where did this grossly untrue and just plain false stereotype come from? Kerry is fucking war hero for fucks sakes! A WAR HERO! it doesn't get much more "not-weak" than that! Bowie said it best: "i'm afraid of americans, i'm afraid of the world"

Every time an independent recount was conducted, it revealed that
Bush won the Florida popular vote by a greater margin than the one before!!
Even the recount conducted by the NY Times, the hands-down most liberal major newspaper in America, found that Bush received more votes than Gore!
Who's brainwashed???

The system was not corrupted, it functioned how it should have. An argument canbe made that Florida's voting process was corrupted (Blacks and ex-cons being denied the vote) but the electoral college system did what it was supposed to do. And remember, when the Supreme Court ruled the re-count stopped, Gore conceeded defeat. Bush didn't steal anything. He might have been the luckiest sum bitch in Crawford Texas, but he did win fair and square as far as the system was concerned.
The process is outdated and anitquated IMO, but you have to fault the system and not the winner.

What's wrong with being a tax happy liberal? We pay high taxes here and I don't complain because I had 5 major surgeries as a kid (I'd have been dead years ago without them) that probably would have cost over a million dollars if we'd had to pay for them since it was extremely rare surgery, few doctors do it, and I had to stay in hospital for a week afterwards each time. This country came through in a big way for me and I wasn't even born here!
Lemme give you another example better tailored to an American who is afraid of taxes: Alabama. These are facts, not opinions. In quality of life surveys, Alabama ranks 48th. In education, 50th. In prisons, 50th. In law enforcement, 50th. In rural infrastructure, 50th. Their bridges are mostly condemned but are allowed to be used because they can't afford to fix ANY of them. Their state highways are patrolled by precisely TWO state troopers between midnight and 8 am. Accordingly, they have shockingly high rates of drinking & driving, and fatal road accidents.
And you know what else they rank 50th in? Taxes. You want to put up with all of that bullshit, move there. Otherwise pay your taxes and clam up!

You're aware how that reads right? I think I know what you're getting at, but all classes cross into both parties.
John McCain was the guy in 2000. Dean was the guy in 2004. The second-best won in 2000, I don't know if it can happen again. Americans are a VERY conservative lot when it comes to wartime elections (And I don't mean ideologically) history dictates that Americans will not change course in the middle of what they perceive to be a mission. The only modern example is Johnson/Nixon during Vietnam and that required the resignation of Johnson and the assasination of RFK.
If I had to play prognosticator: I'd say Bush with 57% of the popular vote, plus three more "swing states" including McCain's Arizona.

The State of Alabama ranks 50th in combined local and state tax revenue because THE STATE HAS POOREST IN THE FREAKING NATION! It’s NOT because their tax RATES are lower!!?!?!? Of course, civil services and infrastructure is going to suffer from the lack of revenue.
Listen, you don’t have to see things the way I do, but THIS American feels that his country is still the greatest on earth, and capitalism is the only economic structure that will allow the principles of free enterprise and other essential freedoms to exist. WE ARE NOT A SOCIALIST REGIME, so LET ME KEEP AS MUCH OF MY MONEY AS POSSIBLE, AND KEEP IT OUT OF THE HANDS OF CORRUPT BUREAUCRATS.
I'm FINE with where I live, thank you, and am fine with my CURRENT president.

All this hell talk, I'm starting to forget which side favours the fundamental Christians.
Anyone capable of unbias and educated observation knows that nobdy stole anything, and that the system works the way it does so that in four years... if you don't like the guy... you can vote against him.
Partisanship is one thing, politics are another, but the blatant hate and name calling is simply juvenile and ignorant.
I hope Kerry wins, all indicators today and historical signs says he won't. Will the world stop turning? No.
Oh, and BTW, with Liberals in Ottawa and London and Paris and Berlin, a genocide is happenning in Sudan right now and nobody, not Liberal or Conservative, has done a god damned thing to stop it.
We're all in this together folks, and the petty bickering and self interest only furthers the downfall of the less fortunate.
The self righteousness can stop.
