Here's a link from the UK showing it as a Canadian import. It even shows the label as Universal and has a UPC code.

This is so weird...it seems as though the Hip are trying to drop the album unexpectedly, but I wonder if someone from the label has messed up and that's why there is all the pre-release info from these sellers? Either way Friday will be an interesting day!

That UPC matches the scan Dana put up when this whole thing broke. Cue the X-Files music...

Well from all indications it would seem as though something from The Hip will be released on Friday on Vinyl at least. I have to wonder what value there is in keeping it quiet? Interest is usually generated from information or knowledge of something, not the lack of knowledge.

I say this as I respond for the third time to this topic, so obviously I'm interested in the unknown, so maybe it is a good marketing strategy after all. I'm resigned to waiting impatiently until Friday for the news.

i called the edge 102.1 in toronto and the guy didnt know anything and the denying from everyone is still extremely strange and the exact opposite from any way they have even done things in regards to releasing music

I'm dying to know more. Considering the multiple sources listing the vinyl, it is likely that something is coming out.

There's not enough to say it is a new album though. Could be anything. Why Vinyl only?

Almost certainly digital as well. Other bands have done free (for a time) download, and vinyl if you want to own a physical thing. Probably not worth selling CDs anymore.

Also, on the Amazon Dougie Stardust listing, the band is "Tragically Hip". On all previous releases the band is listed as "THE Tragically Hip". Think that's an indication it isn't official? Like, if it was coming through the proper channel, the info would be consistent with previous releases?
