Speaking of gambling, I should have bet on the Sabres beating the Habs tonight!
Maybe I will have to put something down for Thursday night's matchup. I'll give Tocchet a call to set something up.
Bring on the Habs....again :rambo:

We're on a roll!
3 more games and then we'll have Briere and Kalinin back, Connelly and Mair a couple games later!
Watch out Eastern Conference! :thumb:

I've been catching the games at the Amherst Pizza and Ale House. North French and Millersport in North Amherst. They have a Sabres game special, good during the game:
$4 BIG pitchers (64 oz.) of Molson and $4 medium cheese and pepperoni pizzas. Wings are awesome too.
Good Sabres crowd and a red light above the TV when the sabres score.
AND HIP ON THE JUKEBOX BETWEEN PERIODS!!!!!

Jay Bouwmeester has been named to Team Canada as a replacement for Scott Niedermayer.
Dan Boyle has also been named to the taxi squad, filling in spot left open by Bryan McCabe moving up to the main team do to the injury to Ed Jovanovski.

Has anyone been catching "GrsyTrlPrkBoys" in the Das Hips league? I'd say they've definitely been controlling the pussy lately.
WTF w/ the great one's wife. What's the real word up there in the dominion?

This whole Tocchet thing is crazy.
Anyone publicly named claims they haven't bet on hockey... but is that true? And mob families being involved? WTF??
And I don't like how Wayne & Janet Gretzky are being implicated in this. I hope it's not true.
Regardless, I don't like it. Not one bit.

Briere is going to be out until after the Olympics...I think it is a smart move.
I know Kalinin should be back soon, but I thought Connolly's injury was more serious. He might be awhile.
With others stepping up big and solid goaltending, we should hold our own!

Meh, I think it is being blown WAY out of proportion. But I am amazed that in this day and age there are pro athletes out there who are this friggin stupid.
But if I was Wayne, I'd like to know just how often Janet and his employee Tocchet were talking without Wayne having one clue. That's a little alarming.

Blown out of proportion? Tocchet stands to get serious jail time, banishment from the game. A sqeaky-clean Canadian national hero will be shamed. This is a huge deal.
And there wouldn't public implication of The Great One & his wife if investigators weren't pretty damn sure that they have the dirt on this gambling ring.
Does anybody
really think that Wanye is not involved, let alone out of the know that his wife has dropped
half a mil on sporting events?
C'mon. Wayne's no stiff.

When I say "blown out of proportion" I simply mean that surely there are
much more important things that the police and FBI can be dedicating their resources too. A gambling ring involving pro athletes? I mean come on, who cares what these guys are doing with their millions? If this is what they do for kicks, so be it. They aren't selling drugs to children. They aren't beating up their spouses. They are looking for an adrenaline rush.
And I'm sure you'll say that it impacts problem gamblers who got drawn in and blah blah blah. But guess what, if those same problem gamblers hadn't found this ring, they would have found another, and then another, and then another. And if the FBI shut down all of the illegal gambling rings in the world, there's a place called Nevada where this is perfectly legal.
As for Wayne not knowing about Janet's involvement, I can certainly see that scenario. The guy is on the road for what, 300 days a year? On top of his duties with the Coyotes, Team Canada, Ford, McDonalds, and his video game, how much time do you really think he is spending in LA with his wife and kids? I probably spend more time with my wife in a week than he does with his in six months. And let's face it - a guy with the kind of money that Wayne has hires an accountant to manage and invest his money. With a net worth of more than $100 million, would $500K even show up on Gretzky's radar? I don't think so.
That being said, if it turns out that anyone associated with the NHL - even Janet - was betting on hockey, then I'll certainly change my tune.
