Heck no. A game 7. I don't think I can survive. Pens can't close it out? And the Caps 'live to die another day'.

Whats worse is I have to watch VS. so I have to put the mute on. It is like porn; listening to the commentators giving

Caps a :censored bj for 2.5 hours. I thought it was just me being biased, but my Wings fan buddy asked me how

I could stand it, she thought the same thing, one sided commentating for all 6 games. They talked about Ovie when

he wasn't even on the ice. Hopefully Pens will put it to rest on Wednesday.

Heck of a Vancouver/Chicago game.

Or, for that matter, when anybody on the CBC is calling any game! It could be San Jose vs. Calgary, and they'll mention Crosby between 10-20 times! They sure love Sid at the CBC...

You mean Cam Ward, the same goalie who was in net for the gold medal game at the world championships last year when Canada blew a two goal lead in the third period on home ice and lost to Russia? No thanks. It's still Brodeur's job to lose. He'll get the start in game one and play until he proves he can't. Whoever the second and third goalies are will probably be determined by who's hot for the first half of next season.

The same Brodeur that got outplayed by Cam Ward in the 2009 playoffs. You are comparing the world champs with a second rate forward and defensive core from canada with the NHL playoffs. Don't thinks so.
You may be right that Martin gets it, but it certainly won't be because of the 2008 world championship. :roll:

No where did I say that's why Brodeur would get the job. He's getting it because he's proven to be the best in the business over the past decade (or more). But yes, Ward's performance at that tournament will work against him in management's eyes. Team Canada included the likes of Nash, Heatley, Spezza, Staal (Eric), Doan, St.Louis, Getzlaf, Toews, Green, Bouwmeester, Burns, Keith, etc. I'd hardly call it second rate. The fact the tournament was in Canada made it easier to convince players to go than other years. And all the players knew going in that it was a chance to show Hockey Canada management they could perform under pressure on home ice. When it came down to it Ward choked, plain and simple. But anyway, that's far from the only reason he might not get it. Ward has been remarkably inconsistent so far in his career. Sure he was great in '06 when they won, but he followed that up with a lousy season, posting a GAA of nearly 3 and a save percentage under .900. He wasn't much better last year either. He's been good this year, and better in the playoffs, but he still has a lot to prove if he's going to go from being a good goalie to an elite goalie.

Brodeur is a given for one spot, and as TDC noted, barring a terrible start to next season Luongo is still a probably a lock too, yesterday's meltdown notwithstanding. The third spot is still up in the air, and probably will be until December when they have to announce the rosters.

The intensity of the worlds is nothing compared to the olympics no matter who is on the team. Probably see, Brodeur, Ward, Luongo on the team. I don't think you can hand it to Brodeur based on his perfomance over time, if he is playing mediocre at the time of the games he won't be starting, if he is playing great then he probably will. I'd like to see a younger guy step in. Ward has the upper hand on Luongo at this point I would say. Luongo certainly didn't step up in a must win game. Ward has proven he can.

Its not like Brodeur lit it up in Turin, Nobody seems to remember that we finished out of the medals. At least Ward got to the gold medal game at the worlds

If the Penguins win it all, shouldn't Fleury have to be considered? Or even if they don't, if he's playing realy well at the time? I think he's as good as Ward for sure.

Obviously not as intense as the Olympic gold medal game, but certainly on par with an elmination game in the NHL playoffs. Ask anyone who was at the game in Quebec City last year and see if they thought it was intense. As for Turin, Brodeur played just fine. Canada's problem was they couldn't score. Remember being shutout by Switzerland?

Luongo shat the bed last night for sure, but that game alone won't cost him a spot on the team. Along with Ward, Fleury will definitely deserve a look if the Pens make another run this year. And if someone like Mason starts off the season on fire he'll probably have a shot too.

Ha Ha, Yeah, I bet that would get real old real quick, and I love Sid.

I didn't dislike Ovie until I heard about how great he is ad nauseum. Now I notice how dirty he is and out of control. So with Sid being spoon fed to you all year long it would be easy to see more of the shortcomings (if there are any) rather than the positive.

Fleury in Olympics 2010? Hope that is a consideration. Anyone going? Thursday the tix go on sale here and I am all ready to spend my entire hockey savings fund....I am positive NO tickets are gonna be available for US vs. Canada on Sunday the 21st. But I am gonna try anyway.
