I'm hoping the playoffs go as follows:
Bruins over Canadiens Ducks over Sharks
Rangers over Capitals Blue jackets over Wings
Flyers over Penguins Canucks over Blues
Hurricanes over Devils Flames over Hawks
But, they probably will go as following:

You people need to step outside to get some air if you think the Bruins are just going to walk in and sweep the Canadiens. Division rivals throw everything else out the window look at last year the HABS finished first overall and it went 7. The Bruins may take the series but it is going 6 probably 7 but the Habs have a very good shot as long as they use their skill not try to get to physical with Boston Price plays well like we know he can Thomas is unproven in playoffs and they may be getting Markov back. :thumb:

i agree
as a life long Bruins fan , I've seen enough playoff losses at the hands of Les Habs
hopefully we can set the tone early and play a hard nosed physical bruising game
wouldn't surprise me to see our guys crashing the crease early and often to try and get Price riled up
Should be a good series to watch

It's going to be a great series. Hopefully we (Bruins) play physical, but smart and not get trapped into the regular
Canadiens bullshit...
Go Bruins Go !

Ya, no.
Everyone has the Habs losing this thing in 5 or 6. The "pros" ( ) at sportsnet didn't pick montreal at all. Everyone needs to realize that the playoffs are a different season and stop this "Boston is an unstopable force" junk. They've won nothing yet.
In fact, they haven't won since 1972. And I predict that trend will continue. If not to Montreal, then to anybody they meet in the 2nd round.

The Draft Lottery results are in..
1. NY Islanders
2. Tampa Bay Lightening
3. Colorado Avalanche
4. Atlanta Thrashers
5. Los Angeles Kings
6. Phoenix Coyotes
7. Toronto Maple Leafs
8. Dallas Stars
9. Ottawa Senators
10. Edmonton Oilers
Burke is saying he wants Tavares, and is trying to trade up to get him, well to get to the top of that list from 7th he'll have to give up a ton and I dont think Toronto has enough to give to get him. Unless it involves Schenn, 7th pick, Kaberle a top prospect (if they even have one) or some more picks...I say no deal. Unless he can get to 2 and flip that for one, but I think Tampa needs Hedman bad, so I doubt they'd pass on getting him and NY needs Tavares badly, that team is dying. To bad for Burke that Milbury isnt in charge anymore otherwise he could get him for a cheese sandwich and a coffee.

If Thomas gets rattled this team is done, if he can keep his cool and play at his best they will go far, but there's something about Boston, maybe that bambino curse rubbed off on them cause they never seem to make it over that last hurdle, 1990 was there last shot at a cup I believe.
I think Pittsburgh or Washington could take Boston out. I still think Theodore will kill the Caps as long as he's in net, they need to play some great defence to have a chance at a cup, offence shouldnt be a worry for them, same for Pittsburgh.
Hard to bet against Brodeur but the Devils arent the team they used to be, they can be beat, it will all come down to Marty (what else is new)
I guess that would make Montreal and Carolina the dark horses, Montreal will need another 93 type run to even have a chance this year, Price needs to pull a Roy or were done, even if we beat Boston.
As for Philly they suck and I hate em, thats all.

That is so true!
ya, I think that the Islanders have pretty much screwed up for over a decade now. They can't pass up on a kid like Tavares. The fans (or at least the ones they have left) would kill them. I think they resigned Dougie Weight to help mold this kid next year.
Burke would have to offer Shenn, Justin Pogge, Kaberle, Christian Hanson, several picks, and Grabovsky....and that still wouldn't be enough I don't think!
No, I think that Burke will have more luck in the free agent pool, maybe going after some of his former Ducks or Canucks.

The NHL draft lottery is a joke anyway. It's just one team drawn, which moves up 4 spots, and then everyone else falls in line as per the standings. And it's so heavily weighted to the last place finisher it's pointless. They should implement a system where every spot is drawn, and weight the thing a bit more evenly.
As for the Leafs, I would imagine Burke has something up his sleeve to at least move up, but yeah, I can't really see the Islanders giving up the top pick. Tough break for Tavares.
Re: NHL -
Lizard King - 04-14-2009
In Howard Berger's blog today, he seems to think that Schenn is in play, plus the Leafs first-rounder, second-rounder (maybe more picks) and a huge wad of cash and to take a bad contract player off the Isles roster.
I still dont think that will help the Isles cause, with the Lighthouse project on its way (I think), they need a big name player to build around and keep the team in place. The owner [Wang] is ready to move the team if he doesnt get his way. Having Tavares to sell the team to the public will help his cause.
I dont see it happening, but Burke has pulled some draft day surprises before, either way it looks like an entertaining draft days is upon us.
