Only holds 150 or so, I believe. Went there to see some dude who used to play with Springsteen (he sucked though). Worth it for the intimacy, is what I keep telling myself. She's sooo good too.

Saw The Magpie Salute in a sparsley attended show in Baltimore Friday night at the Ram's Head (a venue where the Hip played a jam-packed and fantastic show in '09). This new band reunites a killer guitar duo in Rich Robinson and Marc Ford from some of the best days of The Black Crowes in the 1990s and they sound fantastic. They are covering lots of great songs from the Crowes archives, plus some of their respective solo tracks along with classic rock deep tracks on this tour. Friday night we got an unexpected and very cool version of McCartney's "Maybe I'm Amazed" with a nice job on the vocals by John Hogg.
If you're in the NYC area they are wrapping up a 60-date tour with 2 shows this week at the Irving Plaza before hitting the studio to lay down what's supposed to be a double LP of new material. It will be cool to see where they go from here. Here is a link to a video of their current single Omission:

Going to see July Talk and Matt Mays on January 20th. A band called "The Beaches" is also on the bill. Anyone seen them before?

I have seen the beaches open for eagles of death metal and death above. First time they were not bad. Got a lot better since then. It’s a 4 piece girl band from Toronto. You’ll enjoy them. Better than most openers I’ve seen.
