Hey tiger, what part of PEI are you from?

I've worked in Summerside on and off since 2000 and stayed up there some of the time. I've lived in Charlottetown for the last three years but now I'm down east in the Murray Harbour area, residing. The southeastern part of PEI.

Not all that far from myself then, i'm in Belfast, which is about 10 minutes from Wood Islands.

- habsfan19 - 01-23-2006

hey Islanders
I'm from Wellington if you know where it is, 15-20 mins west of Summerside(some people don't know where it is)

but I'm now in Ottawa maybe going to Toronto this summer

back to hockey, any other Habs fans got any ideas on what we're gonna do to start winning? the road ain't getting any easier, this week:
@CAR @PHI @OTT @TOR and at home against Canes again

I think Huet deserves another start, as much as some of the goals Sat weren't Theo's fault, 5 goals in a period against isn't much to give you the starting job. Huet has played well in the games he's started
Missing Markov isn't helping either...and Kovalev is exactly what most people thought(what I kind of think too), too streaky, can be lazy sometimes...it sucks because he's got a lot of talent

Yet you keep reading. Just like how you hate the NHL but you keep watching.

Let me recommend two things:

(1) The "ignore" function.
(2) A remote control.

tigerthelion Wrote:Finally, stop putting words in my mouth. :thumb: You can compare Sundin to King Kong if you want. When the discussion is about players wearing the "C", yeah you should only compare him to other captains. If I were talking about Swedish players you could compare him to them also.

Huh? Let's recap:

(1) I said if Sundin and Belfour start justifying their salaries, the Leafs will be OK
(2) You said: Not trying to start a fight but I thought Sundin was "Captain Clutch". I thought he was the guy who could get his team out of a rut.
(3) I said: ...there is no disputing that he hasn't been on his game all season. Sort of like #44 on your team.
(4) Then you told me the comparison wasn't valid, because according to you, I'm only allowed to compare Sundin to other captains, which is pretty stupid. My discussion was never about captains - you said it was about captains. I made the comparison between a couple of high profile, high salaried players who have not performed up to expectations this season. Is this clear enough for you?

And back to your comments about leaders and captains, hey, if you want to go ahead and believe that the only leader on a team is the captain and no one else, go right ahead. I'm not going to stop you.

i keep reading, and you keep reading...and you read and you bitch..i'm just pointing that out, although i wasn't being overly serious...but let's face it..your leafs are quite old and boring....and yeah..i keep watching the NHL, because i'm a hockey fan..which makes it so much harder to me that i do hate the new NHL...i keep giving it chances...and the playoffs will be the test..if playoff hockey is played like most of the season has been played, i will probably not watch hockey next year...

How old are you? I'm going out on a limb in thinking you probably are a big fan of Chucky Danger Band. Big Grin

I have some friends from that area, but not close friends.

I also played rec hockey in Belfast a few years ago.

Hey, yeah there are a few of us Islanders lounging here. Ryan, Kleh, and myself make it a trio I guess.

I stayed in some woman's house overnight in Wellington on a Friday night so I could work the OT shift on Saturday that began at 8:00. Yeah, I can say I've been to Wellington.

- ryan93 - 01-23-2006

I'm 22 Tiger, and yeah i went to school with all 4 of those boys, and played hockey minor hockey with both John & Robbie. It's great to see them doing so well. I've been playing rec for 4 or 5 years now too, so maybe i played against (or with) you Smile

- ryan93 - 01-23-2006

And take it from a Rangers fan, Kovalev can be very frustrating. The guy has all the talent in the world, but his drive just isn't always there. He'll have games where he's the best players on the ice, and then games where he's completely invisible. He's a very streaky, inconsistent player...one whom i'm glad isn't in NY anymore.

If you actually knew what you were talking about, I might be able to take you seriously.

Average year of birth of the Leafs: 1976.4
Average year of birth of the Canucks: 1977.6

Wow. Are those Leafs ever old. And you claim to watch hockey?

Keep trying - maybe you'll make sense one of these days. Though I think Cloutier has a better chance of leading the Canucks to the Cup than you do of making a coherent argument.

yeah..i'm the only one who's called the leafs old...and did i ever claim that the nucks were young?? no..once again you stuff words into peoples mouths..i guess i don't have the time to sit in front of a computer all day and look up stats to prove the leafs are a whopping one year on average younger than the nucks...you can be a dickhead sometimes

Yeah, going to Yahoo sports, opening up the Leafs and Canucks rosters and adding up 23 years of birth and then dividing by 23 (two times) took hours. I'm fairly certain it took me about as much time to shoot down your lame argument as it did for you to type it up. But hey, I can't say I'm surprised that "waaaaaaaaaaa, you've got too much time on your hands" is your best defense.

Actually, I can be a dickhead most of the time - but that's generally to people who deserve it. I've told you before and I'll tell you again, if you can't take it, why do you bother? This discussion had nothing to do with you or tiger. It was a discussion between Mike and I about the Leafs' fortunes this season. But you and your boyfriend had to chime in, and when I came back with facts that you don't like, you start to whine about how mean I am.

Since you are so sensitive I think you should stick to discussions that (a) are directed at you specifically and (b) are only about topics you agree with. Otherwise your whining makes you seem like a little suckhole.

What team were you on? The year I played we had a big rivalry with Orwell. The games were great and got heated at times. We were the C.C.C.P. team. I think everyone in the rec league hated us from the get go but it was good fun. What's your last name? I've hung out with Chris Panton a few times and there's usually a Belfast crew with him.

Anyway, Opiated, I have to say I agree with you that Bertuzzi has been playing better than Naslund lately. Naslund is still the leader of the team though and that might be the problem. He's a great player but............

I don't have time to look up average birth dates either. The Leafs "play" like an old team while the Canucks don't. That's how I would put it. I like the Canucks but I don't realistically see them winning the Cup this season. As for the Leafs, Belfour is done like dinner. Auld has played better than him this season, Telqvist has played better than him this season. The Leafs relied on Eddie too much in the past and it's biting them in the ass now.

Cferneyh, just because you believe something to be the truth doesn't make it the truth. It's all good though since we are on an internet message board. Personal attacks on an internet message board are ridiculous but you seem to love them. Why is Opiated my boyfriend? Why, because he agrees with me some of the time?
