The Horrible Esthete Wrote:As "specialist" (non-specific title) for a engineering / planning / consulting firm, I help mitigate environmental impacts for highway projects. Though it is a worthwhile endeavor to ensure that the construction / improvement of roadways does as little damage to the environment as possible, the bureaucratic wrangling and political backscratching built into this job lessens its overall significance....
Hey, that's the same thing I did before I joined the public service. I have an environmental studies degree but I was helping to build roads through the pristine environment. I was called a Transportation Environmental Planner. Can't get more of an oxymoron than that.

So your company slogan might be something like:

Borders
Because worldwide, Barnes & Noble is our bitch.
[/quote]

That's a brilliant idea, certainly beats our current slogan.
I'll see what I can do!!!

I work reasearching and providing educational content for websites dealing with Canadian and more specifically Alberta history. In the winter I also coach the Freestyle Ski Team in Edmonton, plus my wife and I operate a community dance business as well, she does most of the work, I look after collections and other thankless stuff.

Upon graduating from UofL, I taught jr/sr high in the private system for 5 years before moving into the website stuff.

I'm a product writer for a photographic company... (Henry's Photo, Digital, Video if anyone's curious). For those of you in Ontari-ari-o, yes, the same chain-store that's probably in your town; even I've lost track of how many locations we have now.

I've been with the company for 10 years now, but not at the same job. Currently I write about anything they put on my desk, from a vintage Deardorff camera from the 1900s to the newest Nikon D2Xs D-SLR. I love it because I'm in my own little world, toys on my desk and I don't have to deal with customers, no offense to those of you who are customers.

Perfect place to come out of lurker mode... I am currently the skating program coordinator for the local YMCA, we basically have the contract from the city to run all public skates and any other lessons or other events that we coordinate through our icetime. At the same time I am currently finishing the last 3 credits for my history degree and will be beginning a degree in urban and rural planning in January. :thumb:
