Quote:but when they give us LOTS of advance warning, we complain that there was too much notice, and gives people lots of time to sign-up for the Hips fanclub and be involved in the pre-sale.

I'm not complaining about that, I was just saying it's odd how the Victoria date and ticket sale info was at their site and now it's not.

Was the Oshawa date in January or February?? Just wondering cause I'm gonna be in England in February...

Thanks
Nick

- mojo_mattv - 10-22-2006

it was january 31 to the best of my memory. I thought i was screwed for the Toronto show cause its aorund February 8(?) and i thought it said march, im gonna be in Italy in march at that time so i almost cried. When I realized it was february (for the Toronto date) it made it just that much sweeter

No love for the East Coast Cry

seems to be pretty Ontario based now that I look at it further. I kinda feel like a bit of a jerk just for living here now.

Wait until Monday. If you got that info from ticketmaster... then it doesn't have eastcoast dates. They don't sell tickets through ticket master from quebec east.

- GarrettC - 10-22-2006

Those are the dates that are going to be announced on Monday. I got the e-mail from TTH

Here is the first bit of the e-mail

Hey Folks :

Another big concert announcement for y'all... just when you thought our intimate club shows were all you were getting, we are very proud to announce that we will be touring across this fine country of ours again early in the new year.

The following dates will be announced to the entire country on Monday October 23, and tickets will go on sale to the public this Friday October 27 and Saturday October 28. HOWEVER, and as usual, Registered Users of thehip.com will again be given the opportunity to be "First In Line" to purchase the best seats available before anyone else.

Don't miss your chance to get first crack at the best seats in the house this TUESDAY OCTOBER 24.

Full concert details are provided below - be sure to log back in on Tuesday morning to get the links and password you need to participate in the FanClub pre-sales.

See you out there,

~ The Hip

i will be seriously pissed off if they actually do skip the east coast.

- emperor penguin - 10-22-2006

Kathleen Edwards will be touring with them, awesome, I wonder if it'll be like the Evening With shows where she sang backup on a few songs

- sean.bonner - 10-22-2006

There's no way they're skipping the east coast. I'm convinced that information came from ticket master. You can't get tickets to the metropolis show on ticketmaster....
Seriously. I can say with 99.9% certainty that they are coming.

- GarrettC - 10-22-2006

The information came from my Inbox courtesy an e-mail from the Tragically Hip. Whether they add more dates later or not remains to be seen but tomorrow those are the dates that will be announced.

What difference would it make if you can't get tickets from ticketmaster to a show in Halifax. The idea of the e-mail was to inform those who registered at the site of the pre-sale on Tuesday morning.

A lot of people were getting tour information from snippets posted at ticketmaster. And you got a direct e-mail from these dates at thehip.com? I thought that the email was just to inform people that the dates would be announced. I haven't gotten the email yet, so I don't know.
