I wish I was able to go but I'm already going to the Olympics, I'm quite possibly going to the one in Buffalo though.

Any of you Dutchies have any idea how quickly this show might sell out???

Thanks for the heads up on ticketmaster, I would have missed that. Paradiso doesnt start selling tickets till next week!
As for the place filling up - i think it will sell out or come close anyways. The Hip aren't big here but the last tour was ages ago, Paradiso is a small venue and there are lots of American and Canadian expats/tourists here who'd like to come see the show me thinks....

The Hip aren't big in The Netherlands but there's quite a loyal fanbase over here. In 2002 4 of the 5 shows were sold out, including both shows in Paradiso. If the show in Paradiso will be the only one i'm sure it will sell out.

25 Euros! Yikes... It's nothing compared to the flight... but wowsers!
So, let's get a roll call for who's interested/willing/able to go to Europe.

25 Euros, that would be around 35 CAD wouldn't it? I'm interested in going. Like someone previously asked, I'm curious as to how quickly the show will sell out.

Holy crap...I floated the idea to my wife of maybe going to Europe in July. Of course she asked why and I told her the boys would be over there doing a few shows. To my utter surprise I think she is into the idea!
Let's hope more show dates are announced quickly so we can plan an itinerary! I would love to see 4 or 5 shows over a 2 week period.

To get her even more into the idea you need to go over early and do stuff that SHE wants to no. It's critical that if you do this, its BEFORE the concert. Then it seems like the concert is simply a co-incidal afterthought!

Amsterdam is an amazing city, and features a few world famous art galleries... The Riks Museum ( http://www.rijksmuseum.nl/index.jsp ) and The Van Gogh Museum ( http://www.vangoghmuseum.nl/ ) are great. As well, there is a Heineken Brewery that you can tour, and it includes a few "free" beers.

Don't forget the Stedelijk Museum (modern art) and the Anne Frank house.
Boat trips along the canals are also always popular, especially in summertime when we should be getting some decent weather (fingers crossed).
