Not good news for Mats...

Quote:According to GM John Ferguson on Thursday Sundin will be out indefintely with a fractured orbital bone. It is speculated that he will be out four-to-six weeks.

It was a good night of hockey, much more exciting than anything in the last 5 years. I found the shootout to be very anti clamatic though. Lots of PP's. The Sens Played pretty crappy though, but the leafs played better than I thought they woould as well. If Allison Lindros and o'neil stay healthy they will be a good team. Lindros looked really good.

same injury that finished Nik Borschevsky once upon a time. damn.

Mats "out four-to-six weeks" means Mats will be out two-to-three weeks. Because he's Mats.

Actually, I hate the new NHL just like I thought I would. There was no energy in either the Leafs/Sens or Canucks/Coyotes games. I felt like I was watching an old timers game or a game of shinny at the local rink.....

Leafs should have won. ....Lindros was a DOMINANT force in the third period.....Canucks won....Naslund looked good...Bertuzzi looked rusty....Pat Quinn is one of the worst coaches in the NHL.....Who in their right mind pairs Lindros with Domi and Kilger?????? Or for that matter, Sundin with Ponawhatever and Antropov??????

Did we watch the same game???? That was like watching playoff hockey! It was hard hitting, fast, and the players were playing with heart! I am hoping the rest of the season and the rest of the league is going to see this level of play.

I have to disagree with you on a number of your points...to say that last night's game between Ott and Tor was void of energy is completely false...did you even watch it? There have never been so many fast-paced, odd-man rushes like that. The elimination of the red line, moving the blue line back the goal line back...all of these things have done nothing but make this game infinitely more exciting.

Pat Quinn is one of the worst coach in the NHL??? an Olympic Gold Medal and a World Cup title tells me that he isn't as bad as you may think. Sure, some say the talent that he coached could have won by themselves but I 100% disagree with that. You can only do so much with the talent that you are given, and I'll take Pat Quinn on my team any day of the week.

Now I will agree with you in saying that Lindy sure picked up his game during the last half of the third period...but man, now I know what people were saying when they called him a "coaster"...once he gets those big legs moving he's not a half bad skater but he sure looks lethargic in those skates sometimes. And lastly I will agree that Antropov and Ponikarovsky have no business being on the wing with Mats. If you want to see a smart coaching move you would move Mats to the Left Wing with his right hand shot and put him with Allison...then watch the net fill up.

I'm done ranting.

Sorry tiger, I have to agree with loftypines and Goulet here... I thought it was pretty damn good hockey. Good offensive flow, end-to-end rushes... and there was still plenty of hitting. I can't wait to see if the rest of the season will be this way... for the sake of the NHL, it better be!

I like Quinn as a coach, but I was also puzzled by some of those line combinations. In my opinion Antropov shouldn't even be in the league anymore. If there is anything good about Sundin's injury (and even this is a stretch), then it's the chance for Quinn to come up with better line combinations... and maybe to call up Wellwood and Colaiacovo... come on Quinner, let the kids play!

I'm a diehard Leaf fan and I believe Pat Quinn needs to go. He continues to play the likes of Hoglund (back in the day) and now Nik Antropov. It boggles the mind. He also has a thing for Belak and Berg that just makes me so angry...

- cferneyh - 10-07-2005

Yeah, bring back Mike Murphy! Those were the days!

Pat Quinn doesn't need to go. Pat Quinn does, however, need to lose his raging hard-on for Berg and Belak.

Hey,

What's up with Belfour? Do you think is job as the No 1 goalie was compromised on Weds night?

Huh? Holding arguably the most talented offensive team in the NHL goal to two goals in 65 minutes and posting a .913 save % is cause for concern?

Given that Khabibulin's save % is .792, I'd be more concerned about your guy.
