I'll second Sharks. That one just grabs and holds on (appropriately enough). Best opening lyric of any Hip song, too.

I'm brand new here and this is just a cool thread....Hey, how about the emphatic "Yeah!" by Gord just before the band nut-kicks it into high gear on "Cordelia" that's one of those classic "crank-it" moments.....or the opening few bars of "Grace Too", that never fails to send shivers up my spine.

Lyrically:
"The flaming vehicle crashed through the guard rail" (Radio Show)
"She's Bloooooooooooooonde Solid"
"Are you really the Messiah? Yes I am."

in the song makeshift we are when gord sings:
'Weaklings Make Trouble' you played on your guitar
it is sang faster then the rest of the song............and i think sounds just awesome I can't wait to hear that part of the song everytime the track plays!!!!

I love how Copenhagen begins with "When the drugs hit you..." It perfectly establishes a tone for the song, an emotional environs from within which to behold the song, and it's just one of the coolest darn ways to begin a song ever.

Similarly, I love after going on 'n on in Killerwhaletank, Gord goes "anyway I do that"...

Ooooh, yet another. This one is quite likely one of my single most favourite moments on IVL. In Throwing off Glass, it goes into
"...and just like after she heard the word 'iridescent', and everything was iridescent for a while..."
The point when he says "everything was iridescent for a while" is just magical, gets me every time.

If we can include GD solo stuff in this list, I'd just like to mention that part at the beggining of the jam at the end of "Figment", where it sounds like people cheering. I'm not sure if I'm the only person who hears it, but it's incredible!

Nautical Disaster on "live between us" is the greatest version of the greatest song because when he says c'mon over and over...its awsome

Just like the Rheo's song Gord touches on during that rant, I believe that "C'mon" bit is also from an actual song. I forget which... paging Casey... Bueller?

...to amend a previos post:
".....or claim we're all the same, just inconsistant or pretend all understanding turned out to be pretense then pretend the pretense of understanding. how long does it take? DEPENDS!"
kills me everytime I hear it. And I love it when people ask me how long something takes....DEPENDS
