There's just over an hour to kick-off and none of the Dutchies have said a thing about it!
Did today become a National holiday so people can get prepared for the match?
Good Luck Dutchies!!

Thanks!
The streets are orange here, a lot of people walking in the direction of the nearest bar, beer in their hands, trying to get a seat to watch the match on a big screen. Only half an hour left till kick-off.
I'm nervous - but we shall TRIUMPH!!!!! :thumb:

As for the football, hmm well we didn't triumph...
But I'm looking forward to an exciting final: Czech Republic - Portugal... should be good

We lost.....but Portugal was better on the day so they deserved to win.

Who is left to cheer for?
Portugal beats England and Ruud Van Nistelrooy/Holland and the others i don't care too much about.
Well i guess i am goin with the Czech's.... they play exciting soccer..teh way it is suppose to be played.
Beat & Kim.... it was a good run that ended by an amazing goal. Congrats on doing what only 3 other countries could do... make the semi-finals.
Here's to the World Cup in 2006.... maybe Northern Ireland will actually score a goal in qualifying!

Thanks Irish friend
Does Northern Ireland have a tough qualifying group for the WC 2006?

irish hip guy - 07-01-2004
Hey Beat... Northern Ireland is brutal.. i am not even sure if they will even make the final qualifying stages for the next World Cup.They could be playing against the 5 worse countries in the world and still have a problem.. Look how bad they were in the Euro 2004 Qualifying.
Final Table
PLD W D L GS GA PTS
Greece 8 6 0 2 8 4 18
Spain 8 5 2 1 16 4 17
Ukraine 8 2 4 2 11 10 10
Armenia 8 2 1 5 7 16 7
N.Ireland 8 0 3 5 0 8 3
They didn't even score a goal....maybe i should move back there and try out!
Long gone are the glory days when we qualified for the 82 & 86 World Cups....led by the youngest player to ever play in a World Cup...Norman Whiteside...no not a relative.

Thanks, it was an interesting tournament thats for sure.
My final vote is with the Czechs, I think they've displayed the best football so far. The Portugese kicked our asses last night but they weren't very solid in the begin rounds either.

You can strike what I posted before cause GREECE WON!!!!!!
Holy cow

hock:

Portugal- Greece was the first game of the tournament (the Greeks won with 0-1) and now it's going to be the last game too...will the Portugese team get revenge? We'll find out on Sunday.

Unbelievable. If you would have put your money on Greece before the EC you would have been rich now. I think they were 80:1 with the bookmakers.

Whoopee Greece won!!
It definitely wasn't a great match but one goal is all they needed - and they got it! :thumb:

Got a call from a cellphone on Danforth avenue in Toronto, one of the largest Greek Diaspora's on the planet.
It was pandemonium.
In honour, I think I'll have something with a few S's and Z's in it for dinner.

Nice to see the tournament end the way it started with Greece beating Portugal.
And how about that clown that ran on the field!
It was the only thing to get by the Greek goalie and find the net!

Unbelievable. Beforehand Greece was probably least likely of all 16 teams to win. A guy from London won 510.000 euro betting on Greece :jump
