There is a certain amount of pretentiousness that surrounds them that is starting to bother me. Lyrically Win is sounding tired, as is the music.
Have you listened to any Will Butler? His live album is amazing!! Maybe this will make you believe there's Arcade Fire magic still to come.

I have not. I'll check it out. Thanks!

I haven't listened to the Foo's new album yet but I did just watch their documentary "Back and Forth" on Netflix and really enjoyed it. Gotta get into the album next.

When I first hear "Run", it didn't really catch me, and being that normally the strongest song is made the first single, I had set my expectations a little low. But I picked up the CD and after a few listens through, I am blown away by it, I would say the best thing since "In Your Honor". I find it a bit head end heavy with is strength slightly weakening off in the last few songs, but just an overall fantastic album.
I have come to really like the rawness of "Run", but "Make It Right" has got to be my favourite, just a killer tune. First couple go arounds I was a bit hesitant on "The Sky is a Neighborhood" as it just sounded a little to "Imagine Dragons'ish" to me, but have grown to love it as well.

I really like it as well. Make it Right, Arrows, Sunday Rain, and The Line are my favorites so far. Also, I wish T-Shirt was longer. Feels like the song ends right when it gets going.

I must be turning into an old fogey, really don't get FJM's shtick, which to me, is really sarcastic, over the top sacchrine Liberace chamber pop schmaltz.

If this is Liberace pop, I'll take it (an older song, but great performance) -- possibly an acquired taste, and you sometimes need to look beyond the created Father John Misty character, but every FJM album has been the album of the year for me in its release year.

And I started my very early morning with something a little more '5:45 AM' than the other ones above...
And it was fantastic, obviously.

Haven't listened to the album yet but man the chorus of that first single "Faint of Heart" is a real earworm. I've had that in my head for the past three days.
