I was there yesterday. Yeah, Gord was a bit yell-y...but the rest of the band sounded good, and y'know what? I enjoyed myself. Gord was in a great mood. Some of his one-liners were great:
"I'm a Bruins fan. This is surrender."
"This is not a Bruins song."
The rant about the girl on the man's shoulder.
The "fucking commute" intro to "Bobcaygeon."
The one thing I didn't like was the incursion of Those Two Awful Songs from NFPA into a shortened set for casual fans. That said, I know now--because my friend and I counted--that Gord says the word "drip" 61 times in "We Want To Be It." Anyway. I enjoyed myself. And I don't think we as a community are making a big enough deal out of Paul's facial hair.

It is sad to see how far the hip have fallen over the last few years. And even over the last few days, as I was "staying tuned" for this news and hopeful for a new album or intimate tour, but lastnights performance & FC cash grab tour may be the straw that broke the camels back for me as a passionate and dedicated hip fan.

BIGVDOGG posted a video of the show in the reviews section. I'm halfway through and it sounds good to me. Good energy from Gord and the band is tight. I watched it on TV last night and thought 50MC sounded really rough but it was mostly due to how shitty the mix was for TV. Check the video out.
