The "secret show" there tonight is Broken Social Scene, which means I have a dilemma on my hands; Sam Roberts is playing the Yaletown stage. If only the Hip would show and solve this who-to-see problem for me.
Agreed. Of course, I have another dilemma...called GERMANY VERSUS BELARUS, BABY!!!!!

I was just thinking that it could be pretty probable for Robbie Baker to play with the Odds at the Hockey House and rock some Strippers Union songs. They are playing there February 12, 15, 25, 28
Simon Kendall lives in Vancouver so maybe a Strippers Reunion?

On NBC they were showing Canada's hockey team warming up for the game verses U.S.A. and the song being played in the arena was "Blow at High Dough".

Didn't we learn that Twitter can't be trusted for facts? Is Gordon Lightfoot dead, or alive?

I heard a rumour yesterday that Neil Young may be part of the closing ceremonies. If so, I wonder if there is a chance The Hip could be as well??
EDIT: on a similar note, I noticed on the Hip Tweets page a few days ago a person tweeted "cool, The Hip are on my plane". I went to the persons page and she was on her way back to Toronto from Vancouver...............I know its stretching it a little.......but rehearsals perhaps??

Well, this sparked my attention at 4 am. What time do the ceremonies start Monday?

They're tomorrow (Sunday), not Monday. I'm not sure what time they start airing; ticketholders are being told to show up at 1.30 PST (which seems unlikely to me, given the hockey game at 12.15). Maybe 8 PST? My current sad-making theory, however, is that the Hip are not going to play. Bruce Allen is arranging all the entertainment acts for the opening and closing ceremonies, and doesn't he hate the Hip? I feel like I read that somewhere, but who knows.
