I've got it on the PVR. I'll try and transfer it to DVD and put it on the tracker at some point this week.

Just in case anyone's wondering, I'm the one from whom they didn't include any direct quotes before and after the Little Bones show, other than the introductions pre-commercial.

Ah well, so much for my plans of stardom.

I think Stephen, Chris and Trevor looked and sounded great. Good job guys! :thumb:

If this does get on the tracker I'll gladly take a copy of it. After all, I'm not sure if people I told remembered to watch it, so if nothing else I'd like a copy to prove that I actually was on the TV!

As for the other bands they documented, I wonder if anything will become of the Cat House Dogs' ("Wheat Kings") original music career... and the Practically Hip guys were pretty messed up, no wonder they showed a lot of their footage, they were quite funny.

I also would like to know what Dan and the rest of the Little Bones guys thought of the show... based on what I saw I have to agree they were the best of the three. Dan, if you're out there, let us know! Big Grin

The whole experience was quite awesome really. That includes meeting you guy's (Jason, Stephen, Chris, Trevor), and seeing the folks behind such great sites as Hipbase, Hipfans and the Hip Museum. We all pay tribute to The Hip, just in different ways Wink.

Re the show - I think they portrayed us accurately, although a lot of footage was not used. I thought they would introduce all members of the Band, and I especially missed seeing more of your comments, as it seemed they shot lots. I assume the Producers wanted to focus on the other story-lines and I respect that - there are only 44 mins or so of footage for a 1 hr show.

I found all the shows so far, entertaining, and thought you guy's did great! Stephen's comments were great and set up "the challenge" well - we really did not know until 15 mins before the show that you would be "jurors"....I was glad they didn't cut after Trevor said it was Crap LOL.....thanks for jumping in Chris.... Smile

I look forward to seeing any other comments here, and will be sure to share with the others in the band.

Not sure if you recall, but we were playing with a sub guitarist during filming as James was in the process of moving to another city. That has changed and he is staying, so our 13 years with the same members will continue. We're glad for that. I also finally got around to doing a song or two on YouTube if anyone is interested..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBnQVf6zzBI is "Blow".

Stay Hip.

Dan

ps. Trevor, I surfed around and viewed some of your pics. They are quite awesome!

I wasn't really impressed with their music at first when they showed them playing at the bar. But when they played a couple clips for the record exec, well I thought they actually had a fairly godd sound to them......

Ya, that was quite the "cover ego" the lead singer had.......... 8)

It was quite weird watching myself on TV last night. Didn't make a complete jackass of myself which was good.

But, of course, the one part that am joking about (the "crap" comment) and they decide to use the clip. Never fails. As Dan mentioned (and he's right), it would have looked entirely worse off if they had cut to another scene right after that. Thank goodness they left Chris's comment in too.

Because, to tell you the truth, there was A LOT of material they didn't use. I guess because Little Bones's storyline wasn't about a band member with an ego or another band trying to make it on their own, it didn't make for good TV. Nonetheless, we gave a lot of praise to the band (both on camera and off) and Little Bones deserved it. They were solid and I would see them live again in a second.

And Dan, thanks for the comments on my photos. Really appreciated it! :thumb:

I thought the documentary was actually quite good .... in my opinion, I think little bones needed to loosen up a bit, too tense and too much into perfection... if you want to be into perfection, then look like the hip ....the guys from little bones kind of reminded me of office workers .... the singer for the wheat kings was damn good, he wasn't like gordie, but he did know how to sing, I hope they make it with their original stuff .. now for practically hip, downright SPINAL TAP antics ... i thought their singer was the closest to gordie, and we all know gordie can sing off key at times .... his antics were true gordie, and he did resemble gordie, so if you want to say he has a "cover ego", then he should... none of the other singers resembled gordie, did they ? .... I really enjoyed the bantering back and forth between the practically hip singer and the bass player .... from what I've heard practically hip have been around for a number of years, and in my honest opinion they were the best !

Well IMHO, I would rather go see a band that has their own personality and play The Hip, not go see a band that pretend to be The Hip.

But thats just my opinion.............

EDIT: By the way, Did anybody else think Dan could be Steve Correll's brother??

The show was great, you boys made us proud...the only complaint I have is the narrator..she was terrible..

That's too funny. I actually thought the same thing

I didn't really enjoy the narrator's voice all that much. They could have picked someone better IMHO.

- chris - 11-12-2007

The narrator is Suzie McNeil from RockStar INXS...

I guess another reason why I didn't watch that show either!

The Practically Hip formed in 1997-98. Their first ever live performance was at the old Mustang Sallys in the east end of Hamilton. Two local Hammer bands and a singer from out of town (sounds like the forming of Pearl Jam) got together on a Tuesday night jam night to try out some Hip songs. They clicked that night and decided to give it a go.

Their first paying gig was by me when they played their first show for coin at Concordia University Residence in Montreal in September of 97...or 1998. It was funny because some girl who lived a few blocks away came running over with a CD for the Hip to sign as she was sure it was them

do I need to say more ... PRACTICALLY HIP IS THE BEST TRIBUTE out there to The Tragically Hip ... and the singer is the BEST LOOKALIKE to Gordie ... when he is on, he's on and he can imitate Gordie's antics to a tee ! .... also, his voice is the closest I have ever heard to Gordie .... Practically Hip is the top tribute in Canada to the Tragically Hip ... if they weren't, would they be booked as much as they are ?????

- chris - 11-12-2007

So.... who thinks that boogie is a member of "The Practically Hip"?
