Jagr has never been a real team guy, so this isnt surprising. i hope the pens get philly in the 1st round, it always feels good beating philly

- teemudog - 03-30-2008

The Pens have shown they are not gonna take any garbage from the Flyers.

So that would be my choice for first round as well!

- ryan93 - 03-30-2008

Jagr has played hard all season, but the pucks just haven't been going in for him. He hasn't really talked much about his future beyond this season, said he loves playing in New York, and that he will wait until after the season to make any decisions.
He hasn't been the same player this year that IMO should of won the MVP coming out of the lockout in 05/06 (it was downright fun watching him that year, he was dominant), but he's still had a decent year. He's 36 years old now, so it's no surprise that he's starting to slow down. He's shown flashes in recent weeks though, and hopefully he can turn it up a gear come playoff time (assuming they make it) like he did last spring.

Ugh...what a pathetic effort by the Flames tonight. That was freakin' embarrassing. I suppose mathematically they still have a slim chance of winning the division, but at this point I'll be happy if they just make the damn playoffs. This team is beyond frustrating.

Linden!!!!

Jagr has only been one of the greatest players of the last 20 years, that's all. Even in the years in Washington, in which people slagged him like crazy, he was about a point/game player if I remember correctly. The Canadian media always has loved to bash Jagr but the guy has been a phenomenal player for the majority of his career. This season is a disaster for him but, it happens. He's had a long career and players can't stay on top forever.

What do you think of Luongo? That's twice in the last two or three weeks that I've heard him slag his team after a loss. Not exactly a "team" guy with those comments, eh?

ps....I don't blame him for feeling that way but should he really be letting it out to the masses?

Linden finally does something!!!! Now, do we have to wait four more years before he makes any kind of impact again? :rambo:

As for the MVP race, Ovechkin is the MVP this season, hands down, not even all that close really. Regardless of whether the Caps make the playoffs or not, Ovechkin is the MVP!!!! This is one of the most clearcut MVP years in recent memory but I still kind of expect the NHL to f*ck it up and give the award to somebody else. Confusedcratch:

I gotta agree with you, Ovechkin deserves the Hart. The Caps have a huge game tonight against the Hurricanes.

The Rangers moved within 1 point of clinching a playoff spot last night with a big win (led by Jagr Smile, scored the goal in regulation, drew the penalty in OT, then set up the winner ). They are tied for 4th/5th with the Devils, so ideally i want them to finish 4th to secure home ice in round 1, but honestly, i'm not sure if i'd rather them finish 5th or 6th. 6th place would mean a likely first round matchup with Carolina (possiblity it could be Washington), where as 5th would probably mean New Jersey in round 1...then again the Rangers are 7-0 against the Devils this season anyways Smile

I just noticed in the standings.........If Washington goes 3-0 or 2-0-1 and Ottawa goes 0-3 in their last games..........Ottawa will be out of the playoffs.......

Wow, what a downward spiral that is, to be #1 in the power rankings at the beginning of the season and then not even make the play offs??

The Leafs are one of their games left, so the Leafs have a big opportunity to help play spoiler to Sens fans...... :thumb:

as a pens fan...i know firsthand of how great a player jagr is, great player doesnt always equal team player

Not necessarily true.. what if Boston and/or Philly go pointless?

- colinjardine - 04-01-2008

Washington should catch Carolina for first in the southeast. I can't see that many teams free falling the last week, but stranger things have happened.

Habs need the big W tonight against the Sens, then rest some guys for the last 2 games.

Carolina could possibly go from 3rd in the Conference to outta the Playoffs!

Cheers for parity (salary cap)!
Lookin' forward to some great Playoff Hockey this year!

He's really only slagged the team in front of him once...and he really didn't slag. All he said was "we have to play better, and I have to stop more shots"
