Oh man, Ottawa has Toronto's number so bad this year, its already 6-0 near the end of the 2nd period. T.O's defence looks awful, they left Eddie out to dry tonight, he's been making good saves, thats probably the only reason he hasn't got pulled yet, I wonder if Tellqvist will start the third.
Anyhoo, GO SENS!! I want to see double digits tonight!
P.S.. GO HABS on the late game tonight vs. Vancouver.

Regarding Fleury, is anyone surprised that he is painting himself as the victim once again? The guy is a big piece of garbage. So what if the fans were yelling at him? You don't think players yell things like that on the ice in NHL games? I watched quite a few Fredericton Canadiens games when I was over at UNB and players seemed to use the word "frog" like it was going out of style. Using that word is more profane since you can't help it if you're a french guy. Fleury's alcohol and drug problems were his own fault. I don't buy the excuse that we should have sympathy for him. I have sympathy for a 5 year old kid with cancer. I don't feel sorry for an adult who drinks and snorts cocaine all the time. Fleury is a friggin joke. I'll never have any sympathy for him or what he's done to himself. It's 100% his own fault.
Regarding the game later tonight, the Habs are losing. It's a personal guarantee from me that the Habs will lose.

As a Leaf fan, these repeated thrashings at the hand of the Sens are actually welcome on several (warped) levels (besides the fact I have four Sens in my pool)... :thumb:
First, they serve to ensure we don't have to worry about Ottawa in the playoffs (cause the Buds won't be there)...
and two, it will open up season ticket options as the bandwagon empties...
I said it way back in October (feel free to look it up, if you like  )...this is clearly the worst Leaf team of Pat Quinn's reign...
That said, Leaf fans take heart...it'll get so much worse before it gets better. People conveniently forget that the Sens were the laughingstock of the league for about 5 years there while they quietly stockpiled #1 draft picks in the mid-to-late 90s (half of which actually panned out)...The Sens time is now...they have a two-year window to win before they face the same hard reality the Leafs are facing now...
Think I'm wrong? Just wait and see how freakin' scary Pittsburgh (or wherever the Pens call home at that time) will be in five years time with Fleury, Malkin, Crosby and Kessel/E. Johnson...
8-0, 8-2, 7-0...damn...I don't even recall Leaf teams backed by the great Jiri Crha (that's the 80s for you kids) getting pantsed like that in consecutive games against the same opponent...and they played against Gretzky's Oilers...
Ouch.
And the best part? We get to do it all again Monday night!

Here's some more Buffalo sports luck for a good laugh...unless you live in Buffalo.
The NHL offices in Toronto attempted to contact the Saddledome in Calgary to inform them that Regher's goal should NOT have counted as it was kicked in.
There was, as they said on T.V. "a communication breakdown." They could not get through and the goal now stands.
I think I said this once in the 99 cup finals, but once again...NO GOAL!!!
As it stands the Sabres deserve to be losing right now. But...they have been known to make a comeback or two this season.
Let's go Sabres!!

I don't feel that the Leafs are a non-playoff team. Clearly McCabe is their MVP as they are now 0-5 with him out of the lineup. If he comes back before its too late, if Lindros comes back, and if Sundin and Belfour start justifying their salaries, the Leafs will be OK. Yeah, I know there are a lot of "ifs" there but I don't think any of them are unreasonable.
One thing I will say is this: uh, Jeff O'Neill, feel free to show up anytime.
That being said, I sure wish I had picked a better time to watch my first HDTV HNIC broadcast. If any of you have been on the fence about getting an HDTV, hockey broadcast in HDTV makes it worth the money.

Wow. You know it is a tough night for the Habs when Trevor Linden scores. Maybe the Habs should see if that Rafael dude can play goal.

Not trying to start a fight but I thought Sundin was "Captain Clutch".

I thought he was the guy who could get his team out of a rut.
Anyway, it looks like 6-0 Canucks in the 1st period. Thanks for coming out Montreal. hahahaha

I apologize to all Leaf fans for posting that score line, my Habs are getting absolutely creamed by the Nucks, its 6-0 at the end of the first. Its one of the most pathetic performances Ive seen from the Habs in recent years, just brutal. We just stink tonight, heads better roll soon, a trade is needed.
GET RID OF BONK HE SUCKS SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why the hell did they get rid of Yannic Perreault? The guy has 18 goals and he leads the league in faceoff percentage? Who needs that, we got Bonk with his 1 goal..
:nooooo :x

Grapes said the same thing about Perreault tonight.
The Habs have to fight or something. They've got to show some pride. Hopefully they come out and don't fold the tent. At the very least, I want some rough stuff this game.
Cferneyh, I forgot the mention that about Linden. I was going to say the same thing; you know it's a bad night when Linden scores on ya.

Yeah...it sure was his fault that his Junior hockey coach was f*cking him in the ass for all those years under his watch...you're a friggin idiot tiger. I can't say that Theo has handled his sexual abuse well, and by no means is he the only one to have suffered this tragedy...but it's certainly not 100% his fault as you so eloquently put it....you can be a real tit sometimes!!!

When did this news come out? I honestly never heard of Theo Fleury being abused by his junior coach. Sheldon Kennedy I heard of, but not Fleury. Get a grip and stop making excuses for Fleury. He has come out and said he was never abused in junior hockey.

cferneyh, while the Habs effort tonight gives me hope that they won't catch the Leafs for a playoff spot, the reality is that the Leafs are in a battle with the Thrashers, Devils, Lightning and Habs for the final three playoff spots in the East...
I can see them beating out the Habs, but beyond that, they'll need help (i.e. a Marty Brodeur season-ending injury) to beat one of the other three...Tampa is just now shaking off the post-Cup hangover and Atlanta with goaltending (Lehtonen) can beat any team on any given night...Elias' return has revitalized the Devils...bottom line is, even with McCabe, Tucker and Lindros, I just don't think this team is good enough.
I guess we'll know who's right in three (potentially painful) months...

I've shown you the stats. Sundin is Captain Clutch. However, there is no disputing that he hasn't been on his game all season. Sort of like #44 on your team.
