Although I agree that every Hip fan should see the Hip at a small venue...say Lee's Palace for instance :thumb: ...

I would have to say that the ACC shows are always 100 times more energetic, with Gordie feeding off the massive crowds.

I've seen them in various different venues...large arenas, small club, theatres, and outdoor festivals. They all have their own unique qualities and I appreciate them all. Correct me if I'm wrong, but was that the show where the Black Crowes headlined? What an incredible double-bill that must have been. My friend and I were gonna drive down from Calgary for that gig, but we ended up changing our plans and flying to San Francisco for the High Sierra show instead. 1998 was a good year to be a Hip fan.

Indeed it was and it was a doozie. It was a dream bill for me and it lived up to the fantasy.

I've seen them in Toronto and it is quite good... but it still doesnt compare to London...(Ontario) that is still my favourite Hip concert that i have been to so far.

strangely... that was likely to be my next port of call, although I was toying with Road Apples also...


The good lady (who will one day actually post on here... she's already signed up and has the shirt!) wants to get Up To Here next, so thats one less for me to have to grab!

and I think I might be getting Hipeponymous for christmas too :thumb:

Phantom Power - is a wise move indeed - it came out just as I was leaving for a two year work gig in the US and I wore it out while thinking about Canada and it is my second favorite Hip album. Number one on the list, is Road Apples and I recommend Apples because it mixes early hard rockin songs like little bones and three pistols with acoustic and personal songs like long time running and fiddlers green
anyway - that is my two c's hear on a snowy morn….

Thanks Laliber... although, I inadvertantly bought Trouble At The Henhouse instead, purely because it was going cheap on Amazon Marketplaces, at less than £4 including postage (around $8 canadian...) I couldn't really go far wrong!

Phantom Power will certainly be next though!!

I done that many times - price has dictated the order of purchase when reconstructing Radiohead's back catalogue

but you can not go wrong with any hip album really - besides Trouble has Sherpa :thumb:
