and the special olympics endorse "the ringer" starring knoxville..it's making fun of him not the kids in the special olympics...

Just curious - How do you Stern fans feel about this:
NEW YORK Apr 1, 2006 (AP)— Howard Stern is angry more fans haven't followed him to satellite radio. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the 52-year-old shock jock lashes out at those of his fan base who haven't made the transition to Sirius Satellite Radio.
In January, Stern moved his popular and bawdy morning show to the subscription satellite radio provider.
"I was just at my psychiatrist and I said, `I just got great news: We hit the 4 million mark. And I'm angry. It should be 20 million,'" Stern says in the magazine, on newsstands Monday.
"It's insulting to me that everyone hasn't come with me. I take it personally," he says.
"I want to say to my audience … `You haven't come with me yet? How dare you? We're up to wild, crazy stuff, the show has never sounded better. You cheap bastard!'"

This is the reason I dislike Howard Stern.
It's not because of his shock value (that wore off when I was in elementary school). It's because he acts on the assumption that everyone loves him and the problem is with the AUDIENCE if his numbers start to fade. His shtick is old. His heyday is over. Give it up, Howard.

People who don;t listen to him don;t understand that this is his whole MO...he's trying to sell his wares. I agree that his show us better than ever and well worth the $142 a year to get it...plus you also get commercial free music, sprots, etc...

well most if not all of the hardcore fans are already there, its those listen for 40min a day people that are hard to get for 12.99 a month. But i understand sterns point because alot of those people get fast food at least 4 times in a month. If they cut down their trips to MCheartattacks they could afford satellite.
they dont have to listen to only stern, theres ALOT of commerical free radio as well. Something for everyone.

after listening to howards show yesterday when he talked about the paper quote, he said that is completley taken out of context. Stern says even if he had 20 million people it wouldnt be enough, he has an illness that he just wants more and more no matter what.
He said " I am not dissapointed in you the fans at all, the media for some reason has to put me on the front page"
The media blows bottom line

I have been listening for about a month now. Gotta say its 70% hit and 30% miss with me. It was awesome when he had those twin sisters ride the sybian at the same time. I love the stuff he gets from his guests. Who knew Fran Drescher was a stoner? Some stuff makes me cringe though. Making fun of Artys dead, handicapped Dad at the roast was a little much for me. All in all quite entertaining.
