I say Trouble @ The Henhouse is their best.... so mellow.... so melodic.... start to finish I can't find any weak moments. But then again, that can be said about most of their albums. I just picked up In Violet Light the other day and have listened to it through once, and am not impressed yet. But I'm sure it will grow on me. (hopefully)

day for night for me will always be tops...it holds such a special place in my heart..i remember vividly the first time hearing it....i was working at a cd store at the time...it was a friday night, and the cd wasn't released until the next day...i was stunned at its instant beauty...the way they had matured since FC....the lyrics..the booklet...the darkness of the production...it took an instant hold of me, and has never let go...

plus my girlfriend and i at the time had some great "moments" while listening...

Oh, Fully Completely, for sure. Screw the awful production, there's no way to make songs like "Locked in the Trunk of a Car" and "Wheat Kings" sound bad. Plus, (and i'm a little ashamed to admit this), it's probably the only Hip album I can listen to the entire way through without any "dead" tracks.

i bought day for night...liked it...saw ara 95...grace,too opener...was mesmorized...listened to it again after & i was blown away....its been a wonderful 10 yrs

I was going to come in here, and give the Tragic American some tips, because let's face it, he's clearly new to internet forums. I remember about .8 years ago when they were new to me, and I got flamed. So here's a list of tips for you:

1. Don't start threads until you've been here awhile
2. Reply to other people's posts positively for starters
3. If you disagree, do it without being disagreeable
4. Spell check before submitting
5. Don't ever insult numerous people in one post.

You keep giving everyone here new reasons to flame you, I recommend laying low and reading other people's posts for awhile to see how these forums run.
(Not all Americans are like him, I promise)

Edit: I recommend "Live Between Us", the Hip's live album; they truly are a live band.

Yeah, they've had some excellent albums and songs since... but Day For Night is still their masterpiece.

If we're talking specifically Hip albums, I'd go with DFN, FC or PP.
It's hard to just pick one.
