Each clip is exactly 1 second long. You have a couple of weeks. . . I knew this would be fun!

I actually chuckled out loud at this, Dana!

When I was a kid, the local AM radio station used to run similar contests and I can't tell you how much useless crap I won. Of course, I had much less music cluttering my brain.

Great job on (again!) MAv. It's gonna drive me outa my mind trying to figure them all out, but what a way to go insane, eh?

I don't know how many people here remember the show WKRP in Cincinnati. It's about a radio station in Cincy, and they ran a contest like this where they spliced a bunch of songs together so close they figured no one was going to win the big prize. Eventually, someone called in (sounding like a cocaine addict) and got all the songs right. It was a good episode. Long live Dr.Johnny Fever.....so for the ramble, but this contest reminds me of that episode, except this is harder and its for a Hip toque ( I think the winner should get a private show instead from the band)

I haven't attempted the contest yet...but for what it's worth, when I was at Queen's I worked for an on-campus service that was extensively involved with Almost Home. During that time, I had the privilege of meeting some of the extraordinary people who were staying there, and I'm thrilled to see the Hip lending their support to such a worthy cause. Smile

wow. that was a tough mix. i think finding WMD's in Iraq would've been easier. Confusedhock:

I got 5/11. Not even a passing grade, but I still came out of it better than the player's union.

For the record, I did try to select one song from each album (except for the live album). Maybe not the best "strategery" in hindsight. Any other scores come back yet?

Probably could've "put it off" for a while, but we've finally got a day of sunshine on the west coast...and we haven't really had (m)any this year.

So good luck and guess well!

8/11 here.

I guess that makes me a FakeFan...

Taht is really hard.....I picked up luxury right away, but the others are much more difficult. I don't think I will get them all Sad Good Luck to everyone!

- Problem Bear - 07-14-2005

Six out of 11. I think I can hear the Luxury, Heart of the Melt, Lionized, Werewolf, Leave, and Pines. But maybe I'm wrong.

Cheers,
John

Thank you. You will be notified via email if your entry was a winner.
Your score was: 7/11

- MAverick - 07-15-2005

This is cracking me up. I didn't think it would be this hard . . .

Dude...I stole the swf, and decompiled it, recoded it so I could click each song part individually, and then loaded up My Hip playlist with every song.... Im happy with my 7/11

I'd be more happy with a touque though...

Thanks, but as I said, I might be wrong. Those were just the six I felt most confident about when I looked back to try and guess the six I got right. I think I hear Are You Ready on one of the tracks now, but who knows? There's one toward the end that just sounds like distorted noise to me, with no colour or defining characteristics (the ninth one?). I can't imagine who would guess that one correctly.

Cheers,
John

- schaggs - 07-16-2005

The distorted noise you mention was the easiest for me to pick out after the 2nd one. That being said, the second half is considerably harder than the first.
