The guy on MuchMusic? The "huge fan" who said he knew the words to Cordelia but just gave Gord a bunch of blank stares when Gord looked for help? That guy likely doesn't want props. :lol:

I don't have the liner notes, but doesn't Mark Vreeken play something on one of the last two albums. I could be totally wrong.

I don't think he played any instruments, but when the Hip returned from recording with Hugh Padgham in the Bahamas, they felt they needed a couple more songs, so Mark Vreeken ended up recording "Are You Ready" and "Silver Jet" at the Bathouse.

Yep. Thanks. I listed that one as a cover and duet, since Callixa Lavilee wasn't around to either join the band or have the band join him. I'd certainly plunk down a few to see it happen though. I hear he plays a wicked Cittern

This is true. It was Gord Downie performing with Andrew Cash & his backup band at the 1993 Kumbaya festival, doing Andrew's song, "Hey Maria".

Actually, it was Andrew Cash playing with the Hip. The Hip were the "backing" band though Gord was the main singer on Hey Maria. Gord said: "Hello kids. We're gonna start with one of Andrew's tunes." I remember it like it was yesterday - not only was there Hey Maria but there was an up-tempo Thugs and it was the first time I heard Nautical Disaster (played during NOIS).

Okay, so which is it folks? The audio bootleg I have does start with the "hello kids...Andrew's songs" bit, but I listened carefully and it doesn't sound like Paul doing back-ups. In fact, at one point (the 3:01 point) Gord screws up the lyrics, and it's presumably Andrew's voice that carries on in the proper direction.

So, was it the boys or Andrew's band behind them?

I'll have to find that video clip...

OK, I had to pull out the video because it was bugging me.
It is Gord with what I have to assume is Andrew's band.
Two guitars, bass and drummer.
I am not sure what Mr. Cash looks like.

I did, like a week ago when you first mentioned it. I verified the bootleg and figured it wasn't Paul afterall. You'll notice I posted as much a few posts up. Even had yer name on the page, it's still there in another spot.

Wow, well one guys head had a buzz cut pretty much, and one guy I guess could have been him, but that is not who the video focused on, so I do not really know.
