I like their fearless approach to song writing, they can take a song in any direction they want, add some piano, some strings, electronics, heavy guitars, acoustics, anything goes, it's awesome, i've never heard/heard of Slow before, so i guess i'll have to check them out, sounds pretty cool though.

Good luck trying to find any of their records. I think I've looked in every used record store from Calgary to Montreal, and I haven't been able to find anything. I used to have a cassette copy of one of their albums that a friend dubbed for me way back in the early 90s, but I lost it a long time ago. I'm pretty sure most of their stuff is long out of print, which is really too bad.

Copyright? Probably not. They're an ok band, but as songwriters they're mediocre at best. In my opinion they don't hold a candle to the brilliance of Keelor and Cuddy.

Blue Rodeo definitely are one of the bands I was talking about. They are one of several bands who paid their dues and are Canadian greats. The Hip, Neil, Rush, The Band, Joni, Blue Rodeo,Lightfoot, 54-40 (Smilin Buddha Cabaret is terrific as is Trusted By Millions). The only person I've ever heard talk about Copyright is Matt Good. Copyright aren't the worst band in the world but they are less known than most indie bands. Where have they been hiding?

Again, I'd be in total agreement if the top ten records were all Neil Young, or were all Lightfoot. These two guys are incomparable and to leave off Lightfoot is a disgrace and an embarassment to Canadian music. I thought musicians voted on this poll. They should be ashamed of themselves if this is true.

I don't bitch about the Yourth of today... I bitch about the assholes of today... like you.
But I am going to stop now because I respect everyone on the forum ( other than you of course) and i don't want to annoy them just to try and piss you off. It snot worth it. You are way to easy to piss off.

I totally agree with lion and wolf on this one, Lightfoot's omission is indeed mind-boggling, I also wanted to add where the hell is Bruce Cockburn! His '84 Stealing Fire deserves some recognition, if not least for one of my all-time favorite canadian songs "Lovers in a Dangerous Time", I love that song.....stupid lists I hate em! :x

Yeah, Cockburn deserves a spot ahead of a lot of the bands albums listed. He's a talented man. I'm not neccessarily saying they deserve to be on the list, and I'm not saying they don't deserve to be on the list either, but what about The Sadies? They aren't hugely popular but are widely respected in Canada.
