There used to be an indie band kicking around Kingston named "Haskell and the Cleavers". I don't know why, but I always thought that name was cool in an odd kind of way.

Cool band names:
I saw a band open for Meat Loaf about ten years ago. They were the "Screaming Cheetah Wheelies".
I also like Meat Loaf's band. "The Neverland Express"
Waylon Jennings had a cool band, they were "The Waymores"
and one of the bands I just saw open for 38Special was named "Huge Johnson and The Immorals "
And the best one EVER was a local band when I was in HS named "FA-Q" and We're not talking "frequently asked questions"

Aw dude, there's no way that's a coincidence...Big Jeezus Truck must've 'lifted' the name from Big Ass Truck, since these posers didn't form until 1996!! That ain't cool.

ATTN BEANMEDIC: I formally submit a request that you assess Slim Reaper and the boys of Big Jeezus Truck a minimum of 500 tool points for lack of originality and outright thievery.
Slim Reaper is a good man, a little eccentric but good nonetheless...and a Hip fan to boot...no tool points necessary.
Who knows, maybe he never heard of Big Ass Truck...I haven't. He was the former frontman along with my cousin in an Ottawa-based band called The Bleedin' Hearts. They were quite popular on the scene back in the early 90's and were #2 in record sales in the area to a certain band called The Tragically Hip back when Fully Completely came out. They were actually on the opening bill for The Hip at Lansdowne Park back in 92' if I remember Rob's story correctly.

The fact that most Canadians have probably never heard of Big Ass Truck is exactly why I suspect him of stealing the idea for the name. If everyone had heard of Big Ass Truck, then everyone would discover how unoriginal the name "Big Jeezus Truck" is. Besides, that name makes absolutely no sense in and of itself - are you telling me that a regionally-popular band Canadian band is going to randomly and coincidentally conceive of a name which, by pure chance, is nearly identical to that established 3 years earlier by another regionally-popular band in Memphis? Especially one that makes no literal sense, and whose three words had never been uttered in that sequence in the history of the human language? We all know what a "big-ass truck" is - would you mind explaining to me what a "big Jesus truck" is?

I laughed out loud when I heard a DJ on 102.1 The Edge announce "that was Moist, Bush and Hole..." (Not necessarilry good band names, but they took on a whole new connotation when uttered in that sequence!)
A name that I always got a kick out of was/is "TBC" These guys would sometimes play 5 or 6 shows a night, at different venues.

I think that "Crowded House" is awesome. Subtle, and cool. And my favorite band of all time. Yes, even ahead of the hip. "Woodface" 1991 is probably the best album ever produced. Can someone back me up here?
Social Distortion is also cool, and appropriate for the band themselves.
Weeping Tile, sarah harmer's first band; also, excellent title.
